An exceptional rare car, in rare condition, lovingly maintained. Starts, idles, runs, and stops beautifully, hot or cold, with absolutely zero smoke. The valve train is indeed the quietest I have heard. This is an early 67 300 SEL, and surely most of you looking at this listing know that only on the early 67 300s, the block is ALL ALLOY and is that of the 300 Gullwing. Note that the later 300 had the cast iron block, similar to that of the 280SEL. This makes this car extra valuable if only as one to supply an engine for the astronomically valuable 300 Gullwing or SL. The air suspension works great and lifts quickly and the brakes are very good. Please note that this 1967 Mercedes has been in storage since 1993, and should be gone through before being driven and in its current status is being sold to be added to a collection. The pictures speak for themselves however the car shows better in real life in the sense that for example, the carpet shows a better color. Please note that the carpet in this car is original from factory, is almost 50 years old and never replaced. Also the dash is un-cracked and never recovered. The seats have been dyed.
