Vehicle Detail

This 1935 Auburn 653 Four Door Sedan was taken as a trade by the current owners when they had a used car lot in the 1950s. They salted it away for restoration, but they now realize that is not going to happen. I am helping them sell the car, so that hopefully, someone will finally return it to what it should be. I drove the car about 20 years ago and parked it under the shed. I don't think it would take much to get it running again, but it should be totally rebuilt in order for it to run right. It probably has stuck valves, and I know the gas is bad. The engine is a six cylinder Lycoming flathead. The transmission is manual, of course and it has a Columbia two speed rear end. The interior is shot, but there is enough there for patterns and samples. All the glass is delaminating, but it is all flat, so it would be useful as patterns. I did not see any rust through anywhere. The car would make a great restoration project as a very rare original car. Other possibilities might include a really unusual street rod or possibly a contender in the Great American Race. Alabama did not have a title law before 1975, so the car will be sold as is where is with a bill of sale and a copy of the state law. It is not currently registered, but for a small fee, I could get a current Alabama Vintage tag if that would help with registration in your state. With full payment, I can arrange storage for a month or so until transportation can be arranged. Ask questions and I will try to answer promptly.
