Vehicle Detail

This is a beautiful '57 Wagon Two-Ten that has has spent its entire life in Devils Lake, ND. It was sold at the local Chevy dealer there in 1957. It is rust free top to bottom, and it has had a new paint job about 5 years ago. The car is unmolested, and it's in original shape. The body is great, tires are good, glass is great except for the windshield needing replaced due to a crack in it. The chrome is good, the interior is good. It is all original interior except for the front seat which was recovered years ago. The interior is good... it could use some TLC and cleaning. The original 6 cylinder engine runs great, and it has had a rebuilt head put on it a few weeks ago with a fresh valve job. The engine bay is fair and could use cleaning and sprucing up. Nothing has really ever been done to the engine bay so it is fairly dirty... not too bad, but I would want to clean it up. The underside is very solid... a bit dirty, but it is very good. It has a new gas tank and rebuilt carb. It runs and drives fine, and I drove it 75 miles just a couple days ago. The steering box is a bit loose, and I haven't tried to tighten the box nut yet, but that might be all it is, but then again, it could need a steering box rebuild? It is a manual 3 speed on the tree transmission. The car even has fender skirts in the back if you want to put them on! The worst spot on the car is a small area (about 1/2 dollar size) around the bottom left of the tailgate that is bubbling out a bit. It was not rusted out, but the body shop just didn't do the greatest job in smoothing that area and getting it right before painting and it bubbled back out a bit. The trunk itself is not perfect with the paint and body smoothing... it is hard to notice, but in the light in certain angles the little minor areas can be seen that are not perfect. The paint itself I would rank at about 80%. There are several very small little indentations here in there in the hood and such... very small, but they can be seen if you look really close. From 10 feet this car is absolutely beautiful, but it is no a Grand National winning condition paint job. It is a great car and these wagons are really getting hot! These are very similar to a Nomad, and they are really cool! You could make it very nice as it is right now or a guy could easily add disc brakes, upgraded steering, an LS1 engine and tranny, and I bet you could cruise down the Route 66 in perfect style!I have about 30 more photos of the car, outside, underside, engine bay, and interior. If you want to see them, just let me know and I'll send you the link.A $200 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction close if you are the winning bidder. The car is located in a tiny town of Fairdale, ND (NE corner of North Dakota). This is about 100 miles Northwest of Grand Forks, ND. If you need the car shipped, I could bring it down to Grand Forks for you to make it easier. Key Words:Bel Air sedan two door four post hardtop hard top 1955 1956 55 56 belair
