Vehicle Detail

Meet... 'The Little Car' This is a NCDMV verified Antique 1978 Triumph Spitfire 1500 with title-in-hand. It has been in our family for many many years. We are sad to let it go but it needs to go to a home where it can be cared for and enjoyed at a more regular basis. This Spitfire is Pageant Blue with Tan Interior and features only 58K original miles. It has a 4-Speed Manual Transmission. While our family was not the original owner, my bride's uncle was the second owner who then passed it to his brother, who has since passed it to us. He said it never gave him issues as he drove it regularly but only in short distances, in order to keep the fluids moving. It has been in our possession since December of 2012 where we began a light restoration process with bigger dreams. Just completed... New Cooling System! The cooling system recon includes new radiator, reservoir bottle, water pump, water pump housing, thermostat, all housing, fan clutch, and more. Everything including hosing, nuts, bolts, washers are new from the block forward with the exception of the perfectly good fan blade. Upon acquiring in 2012, we replace a starter coil as well. There is a new Optima Red Top Battery with kill screw because there seemed to be a drain on the power. Next in my recon plans was wheels, tires, suspension, upgrade the air intake and manifold, new top, and eventually a full professional strip and repaint. We had the dream of a full restoration but have too many projects right now. This toy simply needs a better home. It has been safely stored in our parking garage since we acquired it in 2012 and has not seen rain since we owned it. We only drive it in and around the midtown/uptown Charlotte vacinity. If you are seeking a good quality Spitfire with low miles, this is your find. It has spent a long time garaged and just needs the typical antique reconditioning. I wanted to do paint because there are places on it where paint spidered and rust once was (photos available per request). It just needs a good paint restoration to be back to beautiful. Also Included - Car Cover (it's a tad big but does the trick), several quarts of the oil of use, tonneau cover for when top is off and only in roadster set up, top cover for when top is pulled back (couple broken snaps), plus a little history of the vehicle and stuff compiled. Trouble Spots - The radio and map light are currently out of order. Antenna in back needs to be properly mounted. Exhaust sometimes smokes at idol. As mentioned, she eventually needs a repaint. Was inspected by my technicians at work at time of purchase and have addressed all fixes and leaks to this point. Will need a new top as it's said to be leaky (hasn't been in rain since acquired). Estimated less than 300 miles in the past 18 months since acquiring. Let me know if you have any questions! I will do my best to answer them although I am by no means a Triumph expert.
