1970 MACH 1 – Black on Black with 351 4V Cleveland and Auto Transmission This is a matching numbers, black on black, 1970 Mach 1 purchased from the original owner and freshened to be an excellent example of a driver condition Mustang muscle car. The car has 97,709 miles on it and has less than 1,000 miles on a major rebuild of the engine and transmission. In addition, all of the suspension and braking systems have been refreshed with new parts. The interior is original except for a new carpet and new black paint was applied to bring the car to its original luster. Everything associated with reliability was replaced with new parts. This is not a show car but an extremely nice daily driver for someone. Care was taken to make sure this car was preserved as closely as possible to the original factory specifications and minor upgrades were made to improve reliability. This car can easily be elevated to show car level with a little attention to detail and an upgraded or replacement interior. This is a very fun car to drive and the rear license plate frame says it all, “I’m not speeding, just Qualifying”. Details: Engine: 351 Cleveland 4V motor, professionally rebuilt with less than 1,000 miles on it. The 4V motor has the same very desirable high output heads found on the Boss 302. Added to the motor are a new Holly carburetor, a new MSD distributor and wiring in addition to new motor mounts, starter, alternator, power steering pump, hoses and belts. A new exhaust system was installed with new Flowmaster mufflers and new chrome tips. Transmission: Rebuilt FMX C4 Transmission with less than 1,000 miles since building Brakes: A new vacuum booster and master cylinder, new disk calipers, new wheel cylinders and new shoes and pads. Wheels and Tires: New replica Magnum 500 wheels (15 x 7) with new BF Goodrich G Force Sport 22560R15 tires all around; there is less than 1,000 miles on these new tires. Front Suspension: Rebuilt suspension, new ball joints, new tie rods, new KYB shocks, new coil springs with a 1 inch drop, new coil perch, new coil insulators, new sway bar Rear Suspension: New leaf springs with a 1 inch drop, new shocks, and new seals in the 9” rear differential Interior: Original upholstery with new carpeting on the floor along with new sill plates. The seats do not have any tears; the headliner has one small hole above the drivers head. The door panels are new with new window cranks. The kick panels do not have any tears. All gauges work including the clock with one exception; the trip meter on the speedometer does not work and seems to be stuck between numbers. The heater controls work smoothly and a new heater core was installed as a preventative measure. The leather on the center of the steering wheel is coming loose. The driver’s exterior mirror remote control knob broke off and was repaired rather than replaced. Exterior: There was no exterior damage to the vehicle but new black paint was applied using Du Pont 2 stage (Chromabase/Chromaclear) paint. The new paint was color sanded and buffed but a few areas could still use some attention to make the paint perfect. There are no nicks, dents or scratches on this body or in this paint. Some new exterior parts were installed including a new Mach 1 grille, new windshield and wipers, new parking lamp lenses, new taillamp bezels and a new rear bumper.
