GENERAL: 1973 was the last year for the Volvo P1800 and is very collectable. I bought this Vehicle, a few years back, from a gentleman in Ada Oklahoma who had bought it to completely restore. I have owned many Volvo P1800’s in the past 40 years and thought I would have time to restore and enjoy this one, however, I have too many project going to complete. This vehicle is an excellent example of a unique design from an era of beautiful automobiles. EXTERIOR - The paint is shiny, however, I believe that the car has been repainted at some point and has some scratches and minor door dings. It would appear the driver’s side front fender has had some minor body work (See Photo). The center portion of the rear bumper and the Grill Shell has a couple minor dents. Front windshield has a wiper caused scratch but the rest of the glass is perfect. The only visible rust is on the inside of the passenger’s door in the area the weather strip rests (About 3 inches long). The tires are brand new and the wheels have been recently painted. The chrome trim rings have some dents (See Photo). I have the missing driver’s door mirror but it needs some work. Interior: Based on the fact the vehicle is 41 years old, the leather interior is excellent and only needs some leather treatment and maybe to be died. The upper dash, lower dash, door panels and headliner are perfect. There is one place in the rear deck area where is looks as though bleach has spilled (See Photo) but other than that, the carpet is a little faded but shows very little wear. The car has a very old aftermarket radio which will require replacement. Mechanical: I believe the engine to be the original fuel injected engine, it has excellent compression and runs very well. The Automatic Transmission shifts good. The steering is hard but might be okay once the vehicle is driven any length of time. The vehicle has Volvo A/C but probably needs Freon because the compressor engages but does not cool. Mileage: The speedometer shows 22,000 miles but I cannot confirm the accuracy. Based on the vehicle age and condition of the interior the mileage could be right.
