I am selling my 2004 Ford Explorer XLS AWD with 119,XXX miles. This car has been in my family since purchased new in 2004. The title will show 2 owners as it was originally in my fathers name. PROS: One family owned, Non smoker, current inspection thru 9/15,never in an accident ,original paint, 4WD and AWD systems work, all electronic switches and motors work. CONS: Original factory paint is peeling on the right side fender, the left side fender , the left side quarter panel and the roof. The right tail light has a crack, the drivers seat is torn, the ac actuator sticks and transmission slips in reverse. The transmission slips when in reverse. I was told it could be the linkage adjustment, however I have been driving it this way for the past two years. All the forward gears work smoothly. The actuator makes a banging noise when adjusting the thermostat but clicks in within a few minutes. The crack in the tail light has been there since 05 and has not gotten worse. As for the paint, as you can see in the photos the roof was horrible so I got some rust converter and white spray paint to make it look a little better. This was no real fix it was just for cosmetic purposes. The other chipping areas is just the white paint chipping. As you can see in the photos the original primer is still bonded to the surface. I currently use the car daily and it has been fine for all of these years. Please ask questions.
