1979 Mercedes-Benz 300 SDLight blue with dark blue MB tex interior. Runs and drives great! Needs body & paint work. Good for restoration project or an excellent parts car. The engine was rebuild about 3 years ago (Nov 2011 at Independent Motor Car Clinic in Los Angeles). It runs really well, cruses on the freeway at 80mph no problem. No smoke or leaks, plenty of power. Transmission could use a tune up sometimes it slips going into 2nd if you push it hard off the line. 142k miles but the odometer stopper working about 9 months ago. Good interior 7 out of 10. A few small dash cracks and interior flaws but really great for its age. The seats and upholstery are in excellent shape. AC blows but not cold. All power windows and locks work. Sunroof works but sometimes sticks a little. - I just added a few pictures of the engine, its a little dirty looking now but it runs smooth and strong. The car need body work.It was parked on the street and got hit from the right rear pushing it forward into a wall damaging the front left (driver side) as well. The rear bumper needs to be replaced. The trunk is pushed in slightly and the truck lid is off alignment. The front bumper only took a slight hit and with some work maybe you can save it. Some body damage to the underside of the front left. The hood is slightly out of alignment. Needs a new fog light, and headlamp covering. The car has a handful of minor dents and scrapes. Also the rubber seals around the windows need to be replaced. Unfortunately the paint on this car is oxidizing so it would be a good to do a full repaint. This would be a great find for someone that can do the body work. Due to financial difficulties I am unable to continue restoration. The car is under current california registration until October 2014 This vehicle is sold “as-is” with no warranty. All funds must clear before title and vehicle are released.
