Vehicle Detail

For sale here is a 1997 Ford F-250 XLT, Crew Cab, 2-wheel drive, short bed pick up, with 4-speed automatic transmission and the very desirable 7.3L Powerstroke turbodiesel engine. It is gold with a tan interior. It is a sound and solid truck in every way. I am selling this for my best friend who doesn't have an eBay account. He recently bought this from his secretary for a fair price so she wouldn't have to go through the whole process. He is in the process of transferring the title to himself and it is free and clear. He and I have known the truck for 10 of the years she owned it. It was serviced those years by my father in law who is a master diesel tech at a big Ford dealership locally. She is around 65 and was the second owner. She bought it at 199,646 miles and it had a Gale Banks Engineering "jake brake" installed already, which is still on the truck and working properly. So are the gauges it came with on the pillar pod. She has put almost 80,ooo miles on it since then, which is an average of around 5,600 miles per year. We doubt if it's been over 65 mph or further than 25 miles from home in a decade! Before going further, I had a 2000 model of this truck and so does the seller. We know how they drive, turn, stop and shift. I sold mine after 7 years with 287K. The seller still has his 2000 which he bought new and it just turned over 463K. The point being that these are low maintenance, reliable vehicles and the mileage here - especially the way this truck had miles put on - is absolutely nothing to worry about. Having said that, this is a 17 year old truck and it has its flaws and I am hitting the important ones. Maintenance and service: Maintenance has been excellent but she kept very few records. Oil was changed every 3,500 miles according to her. All lights and horn work and it has a current TX inspection sticker. Brakes stop straight and firm and the transmission shifts good. Rear end doesn't whine and there are no major leaks anywhere. It has not left a drop in the seller's driveway in fact. Everybody knows the 7.3L Powerstroke's reputation and everybody wants one! Body and Paint: The truck has one scratch basically (see pix). It has a couple rust spots around the bed light which was common to this model. The rest of the paint is better than good. The sliding rear window and the rest of the glass is all good, as are the weatherstrips. Chrome is good and no major flaws in bumpers or trim. The aluminum rims are very nice and it has brand new Michelins of the appropriate size and type. The receipt from Discount Tire is in the glove box proving it. They were almost $1000. It has Carr steps and an aluminum tool box in the back (but no key). It has diamond plate bed rail protectors and a hard plastic bed liner. The driver side tail light lens has a small crack with some clear tape over it as a patch. Interior: The seats are that velour/cloth material, she was a smoker, and there are several small burns on the center of the seat where the fold down console is, and a few in the headliner. The carpets, door panels and dash are all good or better. All dash panel buttons and switches work, but the one that switches fuel tanks has pushed into the dash slightly. The driver door handle is broken but we have a replacement coming and hope to have it installed by sale time. The A/C blows cold and the fan works on all levels. It has an aftermarket Clarion radio but we can't get it to work (even though the lights come on) and she can't remember the last time she tried. That's about it. I've owned one and I know from experience that this is a great truck! It will pull a house if you can figure out how to hook onto it. It even gets decent mileage compared to current trucks. My friend is asking a fair price...check KBB.com before you consider bidding on this truck or one like it. Contact me through eBay with any further questions and I can put you in touch with the seller. I will post every question and answer so that all lookers are able to see more details about this outstanding truck. The truck is actively being sold locally so I may end this auction at any time. I will absolutely not put up with hanky panky on the money so don't even waste my time. Have the money or don't bid. I will accept cash or PayPal only. Buyer responsible for shipping (I will assist you however I can). Or you could fly in and drive out. This truck was on the road in daily use just 2 weeks ago! On Jun-02-14 at 19:42:11 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I was asked to provide more pictures and details of certain areas. I uploaded my response and the maximum 5 pix but apparently neither posted for all to see. Here is the text of my response and if you want the pix I can send them to your email: Q: Can you post a picture of the door jamb sticker so I know what gear ratio the truck has? Thanks, Nick.Jun-02-14A: Yes I can and I will get it this evening when the other pix are taken.Q: Do you have pictures of the rust spots and the frame? When will you have a clear title in the seller's name?Jun-02-14A: I will contact the seller and ask him to come over (to my house where he is keeping the truck) and take some more pix of the areas you want. I don't know how I'm going to upload them so I may just have to send them straight to your email address. As for the title, I do not know for sure. I believe TX has a form that covers this type of thing but I honestly can't give you the full answer now. Repairs may have been covered by the original owner which is not known to the seller, and if we can talk to his secretary in the next couple of days we will ask. Here are the pix you requested and it includes a rust spot at the driver side A pillar where it meets the rain gutter. I neglected to cover that area in my original ad...sorry. PS To all those that are wondering, this truck has lived in the Houston area most if not all of its life and A) we don't have snow so B) no salt or road chemicals. No rust on frame and underbody except normal surface rust from our humid climate. - 4mula1fan From: farmall16 To: 4mula1fan Subject: Re: Other: farmall16 sent a message about Ford : F-250 XLT #301200066908 Sent Date: Jun-02-14 14:50:50 PDT Dear 4mula1fan, Thanks for the response. Also can you ask him if he knows if the injectors, high pressure oil pump, turbo or transmission have been rebuilt or replaced. Sorry for all the questions. Thanks, Nick. Thanks. FYI the new pictures and response didn't post to the ad. I know you weren't sure about the title but is it going to be days or months before he gets it? Thanks, Nick.- farmall16
