We are selling my wife's '77 Honda CB400/4 with 20,241 miles. It was a great bike that rode nicely for my wife for years, but she's not into riding anymore. We kept thinking we'd get back into it, but it hasn't happened and it's time for the bike to find a new home. It's in good condition, everything works. It's stock, we've done only normal maintenance and haven't changed anything. It has been in our garage for the past 3 years, with the fuel drained. The paintwork and chrome are in excellent condition. The decals are obviously not original and I think the previous owner repainted it and may also have recovered the seat (the vinyl is in excellent condition). It comes with a clean South Dakota license, the original toolkit and owner's manual. I also have the Haynes manual for it, a new indicator lens (one is cracked slightly) and several oil filters. I have just put in a new battery, added some gas, and air to the tires. I started it up and rode it around in our driveway. All electrics (lights, indicators, starter motor) work. Clutch, gears and brakes all work as expected. Being a 37 year-old bike that has sat in our garage for 3 years, it needs some TLC! Beyond the obvious fluid changes here's the not-so-good stuff:It does not run very well and needs a carb rebuild. When I turned on the gas it dripped out of the overflow tube, so at least one float needs replacement.Fork seals need replacementEngine base gasket leaks slightly, so the engine is stained (see photos)I had to have the 4-into-1 exhaust manifold repaired, you can see in the photo where it's been weldedThe tires look good, no cracking, but they are about 10 years oldCosmetics: the instrument panel is faded and the right side cover is cracked.
