PLEASE READ THE ‘MY AUCTION POLICIES’ SECTION BELOW PRIOR TO BIDDING, THANK YOU. I have for sale a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. This is a very nice driver quality or better car with a small block Chevrolet engine that has the desirable ‘double-hump’ heads and 4 speed transmission. The car runs and drives excellent. It was restored approximately 15 years ago but has been very well maintained. The paint shows some age but as stated is nice driver quality paint at this stage of its post restoration life. The interior is in near perfect condition with no noteworthy flaws present. I encourage anyone interested in this car and considering bidding to look through the pics on the PhotoBucket link below. There are over 130 additional pics of the car from about every angle possible. Also, if you are within driving distance of Southeastern Oklahoma and would like to see the car in person prior to bidding, you are welcome to do so just contact me for an appointment. I do have a clear Oklahoma title for this car. I have over 130 more pics of this car on the Photobucket link below. http://s869.photobucket.com/user/sridenour/library/1955%20Chevrolet%20Bel%20Air Here is a link to a video of the car running. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO8s59bKWNk MY AUCTION POLICIES: PAYMENT INFORMATION: The car is sold as is, no warranty implied or offered. The successful bidder is required to send a $1000 nonrefundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of auction via PayPal (other methods may be discussed and agreed upon prior to bidding!). If you are not able or willing to meet these criteria, do not bid until you have discussed options with me. Failure to make the deposit within the specified timeframe (unless otherwise agreed) will result in the opening of a non-paying bidder case against the winning bidders account and the car will be offered to the next highest bidder via eBay’s second chance offer system. So, please ask all your questions prior to bidding. The balance of the auction is due in full within 7 days of the end of the auction. These requirements will be strictly enforced! The car will be offered to the next highest bidder if there is any failure to comply by the winning bidder. I prefer PayPal (for the deposit ONLY) and an electronic funds transfer for the balance. I will not accept PayPal for payment of the balance except under special circumstances that must be agreed on prior to bidding! I’ll accept other forms of payment such as certified bank check or cashier’s check for the balance, but all funds must clear my bank prior to release of the car. I would like the car picked up within 30 days of the end of the auction. The buyer is solely responsible for arranging the pickup of the car. ZERO (0) FEEDBACK AND NON-U.S. BIDDERS: If you are a zero (0) feedback bidder or a non-U.S. bidder you MUST contact me before bidding. I will cancel the bid of any zero feedback or non-U.S. bidder that does not contact me prior to bidding. I will require any zero feedback or non-U.S. bidder to provide me with a verifiable physical address and contact information prior to bidding. I realize we were all zero feedback bidders at some point, but unfortunately zero feedback bidders are often also non-paying bidders on automobile auctions. Therefore, if a zero feedback bidder or non-U.S. bidder wins the auction with a last minute bid and they have not contacted me prior to bidding, I will not recognize or honor their bid. In such a situation, the car will be sold to the next highest bidder with positive feedback providing their bid met the reserve. I wish these steps were not necessary, but the large number of non-paying bidders require such action. BIDDER CONFIDENCE: I strive for the most transparent auction possible. As a bidder, you can be confident that the vehicle you are bidding on is described to the best of my ability. I am always happy to provide any perspective bidder my contact information if they wish to speak directly with me on the telephone about the vehicle. If within driving distance, a perspective bidder is welcome to come see the car in person prior to bidding. I am happy and willing to take any reasonable actions (i.e. additional pictures, telephone conversation, in-person viewing of car prior to conclusion of the auction, etc.) to give the bidder confidence that the vehicle being auctioned is indeed in my possession, for sale, and has been described as accurately as I am able. I will conduct myself in a professional manner throughout the auction process and I will be a prompt communicator via email, telephone or text message. I also expect the bidder to conduct themselves professionally and be prompt with communications and payment. My goal is to not just have a satisfied customer at the end of the auction process but also a friend. On May-29-14 at 18:32:28 PDT, seller added the following information: ******** UPDATED 05/29/2014 8:30 PM CST ********** I have had several questions about whether the lights, windshield wipers, gauges, turn signals, horn, heater, etc. work. So, here we go....the windshield wipers do work. The speedometer, after market oil pressure, and after market water temp gauges all work. The gas gauge appears to work as well but I have not driven this car enough to know for sure. I've driven it maybe a total of 10 miles. It does show a 1/2 tank of gas. So, I assume it works. The turn signal indicators on the dash as well as on the exterior of the car work. The lights including the brake and tag lights work. The horn works and makes a low almost ship horn tone. I assume its original. The heater blows hot air. I've also had questions about whether or not the door glasses roll up and down. Yes, the door glasses and wing glasses work. It is the original mechanisms so they obviously don't roll up and down like a modern vehicle but they do go up and down. I've also had several questions about the undercarriage of the car. So, I took several pics of the undercarriage and added them to the photobucket link below. It's a pretty solid undercarriage. There was some rust in the passenger side front floor pan that was patched from the inside of the car as well as some in a couple of the floor pan to rocker braces. I also had a gentleman ask what exactly was meant by the paint is showing some age. Well, the paint has some checking in places on the hood, roof and decklid as well as some slight yellowing of the white paint in places. Both are typical with a lacquer paint as it ages. I also had another gentleman say that every car he has owned had it's own personality and they all had an annoying little habit. He wanted to know what was annoying about this car. Lol, that's kind of an interesting way to ask a question but I suppose there is truth to it. I'll say here what I told the gentleman. The car runs like a top but after it sets for a few days the carb will leak down. So, it'll need to be primed after it sits for a few days. Now, that's an easy fix with a carb gasket...but nevertheless, it is the only thing about this car that I'd term 'annoying'.
