Vehicle Detail
collectabilia499 Store 1969 Ford Fairlane 500. I have had this car since 1981 and am the third owner. Everything is pretty much original except for the radio, which I do have and it is included. Car has a solid body, undercarriage and strong motor with 135,000 original miles. It came with factory air and power disc brakes. Car is rust free except for a dime size spot at the lower left of the back window, it does not leak there however. There is also one very small spot on one of the rocker panels. It was painted in 1988 and again in 2000. I have pictures from both times showing the work in progress. Car has never been in a collision but I did back it into a tree once, hence the dented rear bumper. It does need some work right now with the main thing being upper and lower ball joints. In addition it needs some minor body work and the a/c has a freon leak. The passenger seat is split and needs reupholstered and I have the material to do it. The headliner is in great shape but the windlass, which I have, needs to be glued back on. Car has always, and still does, get lots of compliments and is a head turner. It just needs some TLC and it could be back in great shape. Please check out all the pictures as I have tried to show it from all angles and any areas that need attention. Feel free to ask any questions and if you are truly interested, I would be happy to e-mail you more pics. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. To answer some questions:::This car has a good straight frame in great condition along with a STRAIGHT....SOLID body with very minimal bodywork. Engine has never been rebuilt and is still a good runner. Car had 51,500 miles when I bought it in 1981. Dashboard, carpet, rear deck and rear seat are all original, passenger seat is original and needs reupholstered and I have the material, driver seat reupholstered in 1984, could use it again. Picture of underneath hood IS NOT RUST...it is dust and grime. I should have cleaned it before pics. If you look at the pic of the underside of the trunk lid, the hood looks the same when clean. Two rear tires are new, two fronts are worn badly on the inside from bad ball joints. Rear is raised from airshocks and will lower by releasing the pressure. I wouldn't drive this car very far without replacing the ball joints so, I would plan on trailering it home if you win. We will go for a ride around town in it though.
