Vehicle Detail
1954 Pontiac Custom Starchief Summary. The car was subjected to a restoration in 1997. The car has approximately 26,600 miles showing and the title indicates as much. The chrome on the car was redone and appears to be in great condition. The stainless is also in very good condition. Power brakes and power steering. An electric booster fuel pump was installed to facilitate rapid starting. The paint is shiny but there are several chips in it that I have tried to capture in the photographs. The drivers side rear vent window rubber appears aged with some cracking. The interior is in very good condition, but there is some minor fading on the top of the rear seat. The carpet is in great condition and appears to be hardly used and the matching floor mats as also in great shape. The driver seat mechanism works properly, the window cranks operate smoothly. The paint inside the trunk is in good condition, however, there are some mottled spots on it.The hood springs help to lift the hood but are not able to hold the hood in the full open position, but will hold it up approximately in the 1/3 open position. The heater works great, and the radio lights up but does not make sound. The horn has a slightly muffled sound and the fuel gauge does not go over 5/8 when full. The transmission is the dual range Hydramatic 4 speed for acceleration vs. highway cruising and shifts through all of the gears. It currently has modern style radials and handles wonderfully on the highway. The car is complete turn key car and is ready to drive for summer. I am selling it as I have run out of room and I am selling some of my collection. I have tried to capture the condition in the photographs of the vehicle. If you have specific questions, please contact me through e-bay, if provided with a contact number, I will call you. While I love the car and think that it looks / handles and runs great, I welcome and encourage you to get an inspection performed. I want you to be as happy with the car as my family has been and I think that the best judge of the car meeting your expectations will be you. The car can be inspected by appointment, please send me the contact information through e-bay. If you are the winning bidder, you will be required to pay the $500 deposit through Paypal within 48 hours. As I am selling the car to free up space in my garages, the car must be removed from the premises within 10 business days of the funds clearing at my bank unless other arrangements are made in advance. The car is 60 years old and while I love the car, I am not providing any warranty and the car is being sold AS IS. It is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thank you for looking and thank you for bidding.
