Vehicle Detail
This has been my bike since I was a baby. My grandparents bought it for me when I was born! I would love to save this for my kid, but I have a girl, and she’s made it clear she is not interested in it at all…… Dang girls! J Hopefully there’s someone out there who wants to relive their childhood, or has a boy that would enjoy it. This bike has never spent a night outside. It is super clean, and all I did was wipe it down to take pictures of it. I put every mile on this bike myself (all 557!) riding around on my grandmother’s farm in Blum, TX, or riding around my parents’ house in Austin, TX. I am a shadetree mechanic, and so is my Dad, so it’s always been well maintained, and has never been abused, run out of oil, or damaged in any way. To my knowledge, we never had a title for the bike. VIN # is MT 50 – 33056, Date of Manufacture is 10/71, but the bike is a 73. I got it up and running one Thanksgiving about 8 years ago just by putting fresh gas in it and replacing the petcock(s). It ran and shifted perfectly. You can see in the pictures that the original petcock is a double-petcock (for the oil and the gas). Rebuild kits are available, and the original petcock will be included if you want to rebuild it and put the bike back to original. This bike has a 3 speed, semi-automatic transmission (no clutch), you just click it from gear to gear and without having to pull in a clutch. All the rubber on the bike is still pliable, and the plastics are nearly perfect Original key is included. Will need a new battery for the lights to work, but will run without a battery. You could literally get this thing running in about an hour – just needs fresh gas and a carb cleanout! I will help your shipper load in any way I can. I have a motorcycle ramp at the house. The bike so light, 2 people can easily pick it up. The bike is located in Austin, TX 78746. Non-refundable $200 deposit required within 48 hours of purchase. Bike must be paid in full before it leaves my residence. I want at least $1,000 for the bike, otherwise I will keep it. Let me know if you have any specific questions! Thanks, Ben
