Vehicle Detail
1997 Ford F350 XLT Dually – 7.3 Diesel / 5-Speed (OD) Manual Trans. Has all of the typical XLT options such as PW, PL, Tilt, Cruise, AM/FM cassette stereo, keyless entry (with 2 remotes and original keys), seating for 6 with fold down center front seat/console, and rear folding center arm rest. I am not a dealer, this is my personal truck that I have owned for the past few years. I used to be a Ford technician when these trucks were new, and simply have a love for 1st generation (OBS) Powerstrokes, so I knew this one was a “find” when I came across it. I purchased this truck from an older couple who used it to haul their two daughters show horses around Texas in its earlier years, however once their daughters grew up and onwards with their lives the truck did more sitting than anything else, with just occasional trips to town for the purpose of driving it some. The truck has always been very well cared for – never used as a daily driver or as a work truck, which is pretty rare to find in one of these OBS dually trucks. I have used it as a weekend driver and to haul classic cars on a 22’ flatbed 3-4 times per month, in the time that I have owned it. Interior - It has never been smoked in, and aside from a little bit of wear that is starting to show on the driver’s seat, the inside is in very good shape overall. The carpet is clean with no signs of excessive wear, the dash has no cracks or warping, the headliner still looks like new, door panels are great, and the seats are very clean as well. Exterior – This truck was always kept inside a building when parked, so its original white paint is in excellent shape with no fading, peeling or anything abnormal. It has never been in any accidents and is still wearing all of its original body panels. There is no rust anywhere on the truck and aside from only a couple very small parking lot dings the body is well above average condition of what you would find in a truck ~10-years newer. There are some small chips in the front portions of the dually fenders, from hwy. driving but nothing out of the ordinary. The front end of the truck actually has way less hwy. chips than you’d expect of one this age, but unfortunately with the rear fenders being fiberglass they tend to chip easier. The bed is in outstanding shape, it has a spray-in liner over the rails and is not dented or beat up in any way. Same goes for the tailgate, it is not dented or bowed in the middle like so many of these trucks become over time – again, never a work truck. There is a flip-over gooseneck hitch in the bed, with a HD reinforcement steel plate, and also a class-4 receiver hitch behind the rear bumper. In the last year and a half I have done the following: Full Transmission rebuild with all new bearings, gearset, synchro’s, seals, etc. Luk Single Mass Flywheel (converted from the troublesome original dual-mass).Luk clutch disk, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing.Entire exhaust system – new manifold gaskets, new up-pipes, new y-pipe/turbo pedestal, full stainless steel exhaust from the turbo all the way out – 3” downpipe into a single 4” exhaust with high flow muffler and 5” polished tip. Turbo Charger ResealFront Brake JobAll new shocksNew steering stabilizer(6) New Nexen Roadian TiresFrontend alignmentTymar Intake with Donaldson air filterTS 6-position chip with Tony Wildman tunes Drivetrain - The truck runs and drives excellent, there are absolutely no mechanical issues, no odd noises, no leaks…simply no worries at all! I would let my mother drive this truck across the country tomorrow. Cold AC and hot heat. It is a very solid OBS Powerstroke that has been cared for much higher than average. I have always used Rotella oil, Motorcraft oil filters, and Wix fuel filters in it since I’ve owned it (previous owner kept up good maintenance as well). Since rebuilt the transmission has only had full synthetic Amsoil run in it. The single-mass flywheel conversion also makes it so much easier to drive, it has VERY friendly pedal pressure now with this upgrade. There are only 2 small issues that I know of with this entire truck – (1) the windshield is cracked up high on the driver’s side (it is not in line-of-sight, just cosmetic). (2) Power driver’s door lock actuator is getting weak, and won’t always unlock with the power lock button. Otherwise, everything else works just as it should. Feel free to ask any other questions you would like – I am happy to show the truck in-person and/or let your mechanic inspect it – I know these trucks very well, and this one has nothing to hide….no surprises! PLEASE NOTE: I currently have it registered as a Texas farm truck as I live out in the county and it is not a daily driver – The Texas farm tags that are currently on the truck will have to stay with me, even if it is purchased locally (state law mandate). Therefore the buyer will need to secure temporary tags until registered – check with your local DMV. Otherwise the title is free and clear with no endorsements, leins, or otherwise – I own it outright with a Texas blue title, and it is in my name. Payment – I will require a $500 deposit within 24-hours of auction end. If the vehicle is being picked up locally I prefer cash. Otherwise we can discuss other forms of payment through wire transfer or certified bank check – funding must fully clear my bank before the truck is delivered. Shipping – If the truck is being shipped, all shipping costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I can deliver the truck to a depot or meet the buyer within a reasonable distance of zip code 76247.
