Another "turbokev" auction~! ~1986 Porsche 944 turbo with 400+ RWHP~ DESCRIPTION: Here is a very rare opportunity to own a Chris Cervelli / Technodyne built 951. I have over $27K in receipts for drivetrain, brake and suspension upgrades. (and almost $20K more since then for maintenance and other upgrades) This car is incredible to drive..perfect balance at all speeds, fantastic brakes and acceleration that will pin you in the seat in every gear.. A very good track car for DE events, Porsche club racing, and autocross.. but civil enough to drive around daily with no drama.. This is not a cobbled together project, it was built right with no expense spared by the man who was hands down the best in the business. The motor is a 2.5 with a reworked ported cylinder head that Dyno’d at 403.5 / 433 at the wheels. It has a larger oil and water cooled turbo, larger injectors, MAF conversion, Tial wastegate, performance chipset, jet hot coated headers, oil pan baffle, lightened flywheel and cup clutch. There is a 2 stage electronic boost controller..low boost is set to 1.0 bar and high boost to 1.5 bar. Low could easily be turned up more to 1.1 on premium 93 octane fuel, you should use 110 octane for high. The brakes are “Big Red’s” from a 911 turbo and the fronts have huge 13” 2 piece cross drilled rotors. The car comes down from speed better than any car I have ever driven.. Remarkable braking. The suspension features Bilstein shocks and struts, 250# springs, 29mm torsion bars, 30mm front roll bar, and a 19mm Weltmeister rear sway bar.. The car has the original factory LSD (Limited Slip Differential) The exterior is rust free and retains all of its original Zermatt silver paint. 968 mirrors and door handles were painted to match and installed for a cleaner look. The car has also been converted to Hella halogen lighting. As you can see, the car is outstanding however please keep in mind it is 28 years old. The paint is not mint, there are little nicks and scratches here and there, the headlight covers show some oxidization, the windshield has some pitting, and one front lens has cracked. The interior is in excellent condition..the dashboard is mint with no cracks, as are the door panels. The Recaro SRD seats show no wear and are very comfortable. They are on the OEM sliders, easy to adjust. Technodyne also added an AutoPower bolt in cage, Simpson harness and pillar mounted boost gauge. The power windows work, the sunroof works, the interior lighting is all good, and all gauges work. The leather shift boot shows some wear and the AC (still R12) has lost its charge. The exhaust is in great shape, very recent Dansk stainless cat back and gutted OEM mid pipe. Car has a nice quiet idle and even under heavy acceleration the car is not loud and obnoxious. For the amount of power this car is capable of, it’s very civil to own and drive. The wheels are Porsche 17” staggered turbo twists..they are in excellent condition with no rash. The tires are also in excellent condition.. Yokohama ES100’s. 255/40ZR17 rear, 205/50ZR17 front. Known issues: Nice Blaupunkt Miami cd deck with iPod / iPhone cable works fine, but rear speakers are not wired. AC has not been converted and the R12 system has lost its charge. Minor oil drip under car overnight after running it, I think it’s the oil return line at the turbo I just broke the odometer gear resetting the trip to zero.. I have a new gear on order Here are some service / maintenance highlights from the last 20K miles.. Rod bearings and motor mounts at 84,460 ($1620) Head gasket, spark plugs, coolant flush etc at 98,818 ($726) Full timing belt service, OEM mid pipe and more at 99,217 ($2461) Front brake job and heater hoses at 99,786 ($639) LC-1 Wideband custom installed with dash display at 102,305 ($1351) Oil cooler leak repair and cam seals at 104,888 ($1932) Alternator and exhaust brackets at 104,976 ($721) Dansk Cat back at 105,027 ($916) 3/14 at 105,900 the belts were retensioned, LOF and a new battery ($872) 4/14 at 105,926 new Bosch 550cc injectors, o2, cap, rotor, DME relay and MSD coil.
