Vehicle Detail

So, I bought bike when it was advertised to be a Suzuki GSX-R (I was lied to) and paid $1,800 with the intention of restoring it. I didnt mind paying the money as I was looking into a long term restoration of an old crotch rocket. It ran, but rough so I took it to a motorcycle mechanic. After spending over 2k on this bike, my mechanic found out by running the VIN that it is a 1988 Katana with the plastics off of a 93' GSXR, THIS BIKE IS NOT A GSXR. Clearly I got ripped off, so I'm attempting to be as honest as possible. This was mid summer, last year. Last week I took it out for the first time of the season and it leaked all the oil out and when I came out of work it wouldn't turn over, so I had it towed home. A friend told me that it seemed to be because the carb was stuck open and flooded the engine. So I pulled drain plug, drained the engine and re oiled her up, and she started right away. In any case, my car just died and its time to let this bike go. It is running, but running rough. I don't know what is wrong with it, and frankly don't care, I just want it gone. If you're good with bikes, this could be a cheap starter bike or a second bike for a buddy or something. I won't ship, and you are welcome and encouraged to look at it before buying. It should make it back to a local house or shop, but I guarantee nothing as it seems to be not so reliable and I know virtually nothing about mechanics. The issues I know of are the front headlight (one side) not working, and the rear tail light flickers on and off sometimes but the brake lights and turn signals work just fine; and of course, the issues of it running rough. I have barely ridden it because it seems to have a carb problem we couldn't fix. My mechanic spent a ton of time diagnosing it, but never figured it out and basically gave up (he was a harley guy, not a crotch rocket guy). The bike seems to run well enough to ride away, but if you're going far I might trailer it. I have the title in hand, doesn't state if it is clear or salvage. It has had the following list of stuff (listed below) since I've owned it. This Katana is sold as is, where is, with every known issue stated here, and you take responsibility of any unknown issues. Cash sale preferred, and I'm open to offers. I would part the bike out myself, but I don't have time. I need to sell it before the coming week. Could be a sweet bike if you can fix it, but not the GSXR I was hoping to restore. New Parts Listed below. Good Luck. *Fuel Line Clamps, Carb Boot Clamps, Oil and Compression Check with Carb Clean ($485)*New rear tire ($286, last winter, two weeks before putting away for the winter). *New Fuel Petcock, rebuild kit and Install ($352)*New Battery ($75) *New Starter ($184) *New Ignition timer ($400) *Carb work including replacing missing pieces and rebuild kit ($276, then $289 for seals) *New Plugs and Wires *Oil and Filter Change *Various New Wiring Harnesses *New Racing Fuel Petcock *New Fuel Diaphragm
