For sale is a very unique1970 Mercedes Benz 280SLin beautiful code matching 2 tone color combinationin excellent condition!Everybody knows by know that the Mercedes-Benz 280SL W113 body built from 1968 through 1971is one of the hottest cars on the market now with a constant rising value! History and ConditionThis 280SL with its attractive color combination was driven since his birth in the State of Hawaiiby only ONE OWNER (documented) until today where it is now first time here on eBay for sale!The original owner has babied this SL and always kept it up to date. The odometer reads 66,xxx miles and works. Based from the owner these are the original miles! Although he said that at one point for few years the odometer stopped working but then was repaired.A very well known Mercedes Benz Mechanic has maintained this vehicle since 1985 and confirmed that!The motor runs very strong, start right up and doesn't leak. The gearbox is smooth and changes up when it's supposed to.The 4 wheel disc brakes work all simultaneously and the car doesn't pull to any side.Differential is still tight as the overall driving experience with this Mercedes. Power steering works flawlessly with no squeaks!Four new tires were put on the vehicle not even 2 years ago.The interior is in really great condition, no rips or tears in sets, no cracks on the dashboard.From the beginning of its life the 3rd jump seat was installed.The wood on the dashboard has no cracks but cold use a refinish.The A/C blows but needs a refill, still original system. One of the little grills are missing. (See picture)The BECKER radio and CLOCK is original and both work perfectly!The body has no rust except very, very little spots on the common inner front wheel base. (See pictures)Original welding-spots remain in common areas! Doors close easy with no force. Great closing sound!The 2 tone paint color code 542 G (dark cherry red) with 158 H (white gray) matches with the car and "Datacard" (original from factory comes with the car) Other than one little chip one wheel fender and on the edge of the hood the paint is in excellent condition.The chrome is also in excellent condition! No sign of wear or rust!Hard top is in awesome condition. Original color code 158 H (white gray). No rips or tears in headliner.The only thing the car needed was a soft top that is now being installed by a professional upholstery company.The right color code 740 black and the right fabric (German SONNENLAND) was used! Cost was $1,600.00!Pictures will be available in few days upon job completion! It will have to remain closed for at least a week to let the material adjust correctly.
