Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a loaded one-owner 2002 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 (3/4 ton) 4x4 that has been owned, driven and maintained by a car guy. It is aesthetically and mechanically in great overall condition. It has never been in an accident and still retains the original factory pewter paint that shines just as good as the day I first drove it off the dealer new car lot. This vehicle cost me about $45,000 back in 2002 which equates to about $60,000 in today’s dollars after compensating for the loss in purchasing power due to inflation. It sports the original LS-based 6.0 liter truck engine, 4L85E transmission that is electronically controlled with overdrive and push button four wheel drive transfer case. It does not burn or drip oil and has been solid and reliable from day one. The motor oil and filter was changed continuously every three to six thousand miles without missing a single scheduled maintenance event. In addition to regular chassis lube jobs and air filters it has also had two transmission flushes, two engine anti-freeze flushes and two differential fluid changes to date. After the first 7,500 miles I switched from conventional motor oil to Mobil One full synthetic motor oil. The oil pressure is consistently between 45 and 60 psi. I retained almost every receipt to date so you can be rest assured that this vehicle received the upmost care and attention. The tires have less than 2,000 miles on them and are rated to go 50,000 miles, so you could say they are just about brand new still. These three quarter ton suburban’s are built stout. This rig is rated to tow up to 12,000 pounds and comes with a complete trailering package that includes a Tekonsha-Prodigy brake controller, 2” receiver hitch and 7-pin connection plug-in. In addition, heavy duty radiator and a separate transmission cooler with temperature gauge on dash panel. The under pinning’s are beefy and the brakes are massive in size. In fact, this vehicle still has the original brake pads on all four corners even after 103,000 miles! I pulled the pads to inspect them at 50,000 miles and they were practically still new and at 100,000 miles they were just past the half-way mark. It has passed every state inspection with flying colors and is currently registered. In short, this vehicle needs nothing and is ready to drive anywhere. If you continue a meticulous maintenance routine, there is no doubt in my mind that this rig can easily reach in excess of 300,000 miles or more with very little effort on your part. I had planned to take this vehicle to the grave with me, but because of financial circumstances I’m forced to sell and it truly hurts to part ways with it. Everything works including both front and rear air-conditioning units, sliding sun-roof and CD player. This vehicle comfortably seats 7 with room to spare. The leather interior shows little, if any, signs of wear and tear. It had dark window tint applied when brand new which saved the interior from sun damage. It is a non-smoker vehicle that smells smoke-free inside. The carpet is immaculate and the factory floor mats were stored away early on and only recently were re-installed back into the vehicle, so they are in brand new condition. It also has a professionally installed aftermarket alarm system with remote start feature. It has a few rock chips on front areas of the vehicle, a few paint scuffs/imperfections and sustained minor hail damage many years ago, but nothing major. I tried to show close-up of hood (only noticeable area), but it is hard to see. I purchased a new fiberglass hood to swap-out with original hood, but never got around to installing it. Therefore, if the winning bidder wants it, I’ll throw-in the fiberglass hood with this auction. The winning bidder will not be disappointed. Last but not least, I have the original window-sticker, owner’s manual, documentation to support maintenance and clear title in hand. Thanks for looking and good luck! Also, please note that autocheck inadvertantly received the wrong mileage during my last state inspection in August 2013. The inspection facility (I won't be going there anymore, that;s for sure) somehow put down an erroneous mileage entry that autocheck shows as last recorded mileage. In fact, the odometer hadn't even reached 100,000 miles yet when that inspection was made, so 185,000 is totally ridiculous.
