Vehicle Detail
READ THE ‘MY AUCTION POLICIES’ SECTION BELOW PRIOR TO BIDDING, THANK YOU. I have for sale my 1968 Dodge Charger big block project car. The car is a ‘G’ code car which meant it left the factory with a 383, 2 barrel motor. The numbers matching motor is gone, but it does have a 1969 model 383, 2 barrel motor in it with an automatic transmission. It does not run and would likely need to be rebuilt. The car is a roller and is a great foundation to begin a restoration. Though this car is not rust free, it is so much more solid than a lot of the Chargers you find now a days. The car has been primed to prevent surface rust but will of course need to be sanded and refinished during the restoration process. The frame rails are rock solid. The floor pans are great and do not need to be replaced. The roof is excellent as is around the front glass area. The rear window does have some rust in the lower corners but is minor compared to what you usually see in these cars. It does have the typical Charger rust in the lower quarter panels behind the rear wheels and it will need a trunk pan. Other than how solid the car is, the best part may be how complete it is. It isn’t 100% complete but it is pretty darn close. The interior is all there including all the hard to find parts and the upper door pads that are typically always cracked are in amazing shape. There is some stainless trim missing on the exterior of the car, but stainless window trim (other than the back glass) was common to all 1968-70 Plymouth and Dodge b-body 2 doors and is not hard to find. Needless to say, this is a very restorable car and compared to most chargers a relatively easy restoration at that. This is a project I’d love to spend some time working on, but I’ve got too many other things going right now. I do have a clean and clear Oklahoma title for this car. I typically list all my auctions with a Buy-It-Now option. However, recently I’ve been plagued by dreamers and other non-paying bidders who like to click the Buy-It-Now without any intention or ability to pay. Therefore, if you are interested in buying this car via Buy-It-Now you must contact me first. This listing will be online Sunday evening (April 20, 2014). I will offer a Buy-It-Now option beginning the morning of Tuesday, April 22, 2014. The Buy-It-Now price will be $8600. I will offer the Buy-It-Now in the following manner. If you’d like to buy the car for price of $8600, contact me sometime on Tuesday morning (or after) and I will provide my PayPal information. Once I have received your deposit, I will have you make yourself the high bidder and then I will end the auction and award it to you as the high bidder. This will be a de facto Buy-It-Now with the security of eBay still involved. This is not an ‘outside’ eBay deal, but there will be no ‘Buy-It-Now’ button to click. I have over 250 more pics of this car on the Photobucket link below. http://s869.photobucket.com/user/sridenour/library/1968%20Dodge%20Charger%20383%20Green MY AUCTION POLICIES: PAYMENT INFORMATION: The car is sold as is, no warranty implied or offered. The successful bidder is required to send a $1000 nonrefundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of auction via PayPal (other methods may be discussed and agreed upon prior to bidding ONLY!). If you are not able or willing to meet these criteria, do not bid until you have discussed options with me. Failure to make the deposit within the specified timeframe (unless otherwise agreed) will result in the opening a non-paying bidder case against the winning bidders account and the car will be offered to the next highest bidder via eBay’s second chance offer system. So, please ask all your questions prior to bidding. The balance of the auction is due in full within 7 days of the end of the auction. These requirements will be strictly enforced! The car will be offered to the next highest bidder if there is any failure to comply by the winning bidder. I prefer PayPal (for the deposit ONLY) and an electronic funds transfer for the balance. I will not accept PayPal for payment of the balance except under special circumstances that must be agreed on prior to bidding! I’ll accept other forms of payment such as certified bank check or cashier’s check for the balance, but all funds must clear my bank prior to release of the car. I would like the car picked up within 30 days of the end of the auction. The buyer is solely responsible for arranging the pickup of the car. ZERO (0) FEEDBACK AND NON-U.S. BIDDERS: If you are a zero (0) feedback bidder or a non-U.S. bidder you MUST contact me before bidding. I will cancel the bid of any zero feedback or non-U.S. bidder that does not contact me prior to bidding. I will require any zero feedback or non-U.S. bidder to provide me with a verifiable physical address and contact information prior to bidding. I realize we were all zero feedback bidders at some point, but unfortunately zero feedback bidders are often also non-paying bidders on automobile auctions. Therefore, if a zero feedback bidder or non-U.S. bidder wins the auction with a last minute bid and they have not contacted me prior to bidding, I will not recognize or honor their bid. In such a situation, the car will be sold to the next highest bidder with positive feedback providing their bid met the reserve. I wish these steps were not necessary, but the large number of non-paying bidders on eBay Motors items require such action. BIDDER CONFIDENCE: I strive for the most transparent auction possible. As a bidder, you can be confident that the vehicle you are bidding on is described to the best of my ability. I am always happy to provide any perspective bidder my contact information if they wish to speak directly with me on the telephone about the vehicle. If within driving distance, a perspective bidder is welcome to come see the car in person prior to bidding. I am happy and willing to take any reasonable actions (i.e. additional pictures, telephone conversation, in-person viewing of car prior to conclusion of the auction, etc.) to give the bidder confidence that the vehicle being auctioned is indeed in my possession, for sale, and has been described as accurately as I am able. I will conduct myself in a professional manner throughout the auction process and I will be a prompt communicator via email, telephone or text message. I also expect the bidder to conduct themselves professionally and be prompt with communications and payment. My goal is to not just have a satisfied customer at the end of the auction process but also a friend.
