jeremybsavage2 Store The Austin Healey 100/4 BN1 was the first iteration of the “Big Healeys” and was named for its 100mph capacity and 4-cylinder engine. These cars produced 90hp, and easily surpassed the 100mph mark, in period. The 100-series went above and beyond consumer and critic expectations, and was lauded by multiple magazines for it’s tight handling and nimble maneuvering. In recent years 100/4s have been recognized as THE healey to own. A perfect classic car and perhaps the purest sporting car to ever come out of the Longbridge factory. We are able to offer you an incredibly solid, reliable driving 100/4. The previous owner purchased this car in Massachusetts in 1975, at which time it had only 27,000 original miles on it. In 1978, the engine was removed and completely rebuilt, and the head was properly re-torqued after 500 miles to ensure that everything was in working order. Since that time, the owner, unfortunately not a meticulous record keeper, drove and maintained the car regularly until he repainted it in 2002. After the repaint, the owner continued to drive the car until he sold it to us in 2012. Originally Healey blue, this car was repainted in 2002 and the paint has not been touched since then. With the exception of one area of minor rust in one floor-pan (photographed), this car is as straight as they come. The front shocks have just been done and, in addition, we are able to provide voluminous, itemized records of repairs, including documentation of the engine rebuild, with specifics – all available to an interested party. We have gone over the car and it is ready to be driven and enjoyed by the next owner. These Healey's are getting harder and harder to find, and this one represents a rare opportunity to get into a classic that you can drive and enjoy while it appreciates.
