Vehicle Detail
1965 Ford Mustang NO RESERVE Thank you for checking out my 1965 Ford Mustang. This car is a very nice driver, with some wonderful upgrades, that many folks would like to do, but cost a lot of money do them. This car is ready to go, it drives excellent, and is very solid car. Upgrades it has start with a 1968 302 4V engine, Edelbrock Performer 289 4v aluminum intake, 1965 Ford 4V Carb, Petronix Electronic Ignition, C4 Transmission, Converted to 5 lug Front Disc Brake Conversion with Shelby 1" lowering specs, Ford 9" 5 lug rearend, with Disc Brake conversion ( this rearend with disc brakes is worth $1200 alone). Vintage Torque Thrust D's 14X7 wheels, in excellent shape, Nice tires, Dual exhaust with H pipe and Turbo Mufflers, has a nice sound. Mechanically this car is in very nice shape. The car was built for performance and safety in mind. Car was converted in 1995, for some very nice folks that I have know for some time. They built it for their son, so that it would be nice and safe. It has Shoulder belts in the front, also has a headrest included that I took off passenger seat, you can see to holes in top of seat back. It has the rear trunk to interior block off plate between rear seat and trunk, the 4 wheel disc brakes were really important to them, you can go as fast as you want, but stopping is much more important. This car is in great shape for the guy or gal, who wants to have a nice driving car, and save time and lots of money doing the conversion that this car has gone through. The car looks great inside and out, but what it needs next is a nice paint job. Don't get me wrong it looks decent, but it is showing its age, there are some very small rust pimples in typical areas, you will see pictures. It has some areas that have been repainted. From about 20' it looks great as you get closer you start to notice some things. Underneath the car is amazing, perfect floors, beautiful frame rails, many Mustangs only wish they looks this nice underneath, very clean, no undercoating, very impressive, and I have owned over 100 Mustangs in my life time. This is a car that you could take to any local cruise night and just enjoy yourself, because it is clean, and fun to drive. The Interior on the car is in nice shape, and clean, non smoker. You will see in the pictures they did some subtle changed, that would be easy to change around if you wanted. They went with a gray and black theme. Carpet looks nice, but if you wanted to put correct black in it, it is very cheap, around $140 for a kit, but this carpet looks nice, so I probably wouldn't bother. The dash and doors have been painted grey as well. The seats are in nice shape, dash pad is in excellent shape. Interior for the most part is nice and clean, this is a car that my wife would actually ride in, just a nice cruiser. It has brand new Pony Rubber floor mats, my favorite in any vintage Mustang. The radio was upgraded, and works, with 4 speakers. The instrument gauges work, the odometer and speedometer work, instrument lights work, cig lighter works, though it is NON Smoker vehicle. Overall a very clean interior for a very nice driver. Body on the car like I mentioned before is in very nice shape, paint is older, one day you will probably have it resprayed, that is the only thing that the car really needs at this point, but not a must. The hard work has been done on this car for the most part, getting it into the mechanical position it is today. All the panels are very solid and original. There are various small chips that have been touched up on the car, the paint is 25 years old, was not a highend paint job, painted in 1990, out in the sun it looks excellent, very shiny, under lights you will notice small things, touchup and such. Best thing about older paint is what you see is what you get, nothing to hide, unlike a brand new paint job. Quarter panels are original and not replaced. The passengers side quarter, a while back, was scrapped behind the wheel, and was worked back out, and repaired nicely. It was spotted back in, and they left a tape line, that you can see if the light is just right, it has been buffed out, but it is noticeable underlights, or in the shade, out in the sun hard to see, helps that the car is white. There are a couple other spots like this, but very minor but there, you can see pictures. Overall a clean little car, the doors, trunk lid hood all shut very nicely. The only rust pimples on the car, are on the passenger door bottom corner, very minor, and behind the drivers rear wheel typical areas on Mustangs. Above the drivers side rain gutter, you can see were they cleaned the gutter out, and spot painted around that area. Overall though the car is very solid, and nice looking. The undercarriage as I mentioned before, is very clean, no signs of any accidents, very clean. Frame rails look great, which if you are new to Mustangs, underneath is a good example of what someone would like to see, especially frame rails. Inside the trunk, is rust free and very clean. It did have carpet at one time, the yellow you see in the trunk is dried glue. It has a new floor mat in the trunk as well. Overall a clean little car that you can have fun with right away. All the glass is in good shape, no chips or cracks. It does stay dry inside, but the gaskets are worn, and you might want to replace down the road. The windows roll up and down very good. The engine runs great, starts right up, it is a 1968 302, dressed to look like a factory 289, no one would know it was a 302, unless you knew what to look for which is behind the engine is a stamp pad that 289 don't have. the 221, 260, 289, 351, are all in the same engine factory, the internals are what makes the difference. So nice that it has a little more displacement, bigger never hurts anything. The engine is clean, it does not burn oil, and it does not leak, no drips on the ground. It sounds very nice, with the Dual exhaust, the note is just perfect for a classic Mustang. The transmission shifts nice and smooth, ujoints feel good, the rear end is nice and tight, no slop. The 4 wheel disc brakes work great no pulling. The tires are Hoosiers up front with about 50% tread and the Rears are BFG's with about 70%. They are in good shape though. The engine has nice power, it is very friendly, more of a cruising car, no a race car by any means, has a nice sound, but very tame.
