Just in time for the spring/summer driving season is my beautiful 2002 Ford Thunderbird. If you are reading this listing, it is probably not necessary to go into too much history. The Thunderbird was revived in 2002 by Ford and treated to retro styling. Incorporating styling cues from the Thunderbirds of 55/57 and some later models, it was and (still is) a head turner. I purchased this Thunderbird from the original family owners in 2012. The last owner was no longer able to drive and regretfully had to part with her "baby". I did have to refinish both bumpers as they did suffer from parking lot damage. All the panels have the original vehicle manufactuer vin tags and the Carfax is clean with no collision history. When I bought the car, the hardtop had NEVER been removed. The black cloth convertible top is brand new. The Evening Black paint is beautiful and has a deep gloss. It has been professionally buffed and glazed with the finest polishes. You may find a random minor ding or scratch, but nothing too offensive. You will need to look very close to find them. The two tone optional leather interior features black with full red accent package. A stunning combination. The leather is soft, supple and free of cracks. Carpets are immaculate, as is the dash, door panels and all trim. There were never any smokers in it's history, so it is free of any offensive odors. As you would expect with a top of the line sport touring car, there are all the comfort and convenience options you would come to expect. The climate control, power windows and locks, power assisted steering wheel and seats all operate correcty. The 6 disc "audiophile" sound system will keep you entertained on those cruise nights. The powerplant is a 3.9 V8 with 252 horsepower. Dual exhaust provides a nice sound under acceleration. It runs strong with no engine warning lights illuminated on the dash. The transmission is a Selectshift automatic which allows manual gear changes for sportier drives. The traction control provides a measure of safety as does the driver, passenger and side airbags. Since I did not like the stance of the car, I replaced both the front and rear suspensions with sport struts from a Lincoln LS. The LS was a "sister car" to the Thunderbird and shared the same suspension components. This was done using all factory Ford parts, nothing aftermarket. I also installed all brand new custom Vogue whitewall tires with the gold stripe mounted on freshly rechromed 6 spoke chrome wheels from a 2005 Thunderbird. I have the carrier for the hardtop, all owners manuals, 2 keys with remotes and a stack of service records. The prior owner was careful to have any repairs made as needed. I have photos of the Thunderbird the day I bought it showing the scratched bumpers. I am able to show the before and after photos to interested individuals. This a future collectible "turn key" automobile. It has been garaged and insured with Hagerty Classic Car insurance and not driven much since I purchased it. I am selling it as I have a 2014 Corvette C7 on order. Don't be concerned by the miles, all the repairs commonly required have been addressed. Mileage actually averages out to 6,000 per year, well below average. This car is privately owned and titled in my name. I am NOT a dealer. The Thunderbird is presently stored in Toms River, NJ and may be seen by appointment. There are other Thunderbirds on websites that were put away new by speculators and never driven. The prices will reflect low miles, but as soon as you drive it and the miles climb, down goes the value. This one can be enjoyed and driven today and still hold it's value.
