Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Bronco “Old School to New School” Build NO RESERVE AUCTION!This original midwest Bronco started as another Ebay auction back in 2008 with lots of character and fun history. Some of history was worth preserving - vintage trapping and NRA decals on the vent windows, original sunvisors and center console with all sorts of fun stickers from back in the day, and even a ZZTOP / Loverboy mix tape. I had to hold onto that one and put in the glovebox. Some of the items, however, did need updating...and that’s where I took it.Let’s go through some of the nitty gritty details of this awesome truck -MOTOR-OUT - The original, worn out 302/V8 motor with the monster lumpy (horrible idling) cam is gone.IN - A 1990 Mustang GT fuel injected 5.0/V8 roller cam motor that has been completely rebuilt. Truck has been driven less than 500 miles since rebuild and break-in oil has just changed. The motor has a brand new aluminum Ron Davis radiator and fan shroud along with a Ford Explorer front dress serpentine setup. An original stock power steering box was completely rebuilt by West Texas Offroad and a high volume power steering pump added from Wild Horses 4x4. Every electronic sensor was replaced with brand new units with the exception of the original Ford Mustang ECM and the stock Mass Air Sensor. The fuel injectors are not rebuilds, but genuine, brand new Ford Racing units. BC Broncos provides the sweet sounding shorty headers, 2 in 1 exhaust, Magnaflow muffler, all new locking hardware and improved exhaust manifold gaskets.TRANSMISSION-OUT - Manual 3 speed with a worn out floor shifter.IN- A factory Bronco C4 transmission was rebuilt with a Broader Performance 500HP kit. Upgraded front planetary gear unit, Sonos servo, and extra clutches are all included. A shift kit was not added to retain nice, non teeth jarring drivability. Unit was replaced with the motor and also has less than 500 miles since complete rebuild. A standard pattern Art Carr gated shifter makes shifting a joy. The Dana 20 transfer case is completely rebuilt as well. JB Fab stainless twin sticks and billet shifter knobs make things look and shift the way they were always meant to. FUEL SYSTEM-OUT- Small rusty original fuel tanks, lines, and hoses.IN - Every component in the fuel system has been replace with brand new parts. The fuel tank is an oversized 24 gallon tank from BC Broncos complete with their latest sending unit, hi-volume Edelbrock pump, all new custom made lines from BC Broncos, stainless braided delivery and return lines, and a fuel pressure gauge in the engine bay to keep tabs on fuel pressure. K&N Filter and a “BRONCO” name plate grace the upper intake manifold. SUSPENSION /LIFT KIT/ TIRES-OUT- Are you old enough to remember Rancho suspension and springs? How about old Bias ply tires? Still have all the fillings in your teeth? Those items are gone on this truck.IN- Wild Horses System 7, 3.5 lift kit. Smooth riding and excellent articulation for offroad. At home on or offroad. A 2” body lift kit was added along with all new body bushings. BFGoodrich 35” KM2 tires ride on vintage aluminum mags.Wild Horses Gorilla Warflares makes sure tire have plenty of clearance. Extreme Travel Driveshafts from Tom Woods.Tom’s Bronco Parts Heim Joint Tie Rods AXLES-OUT- Dana 30 and small spline 9” rear.IN- Front axle is an early Bronco Dana 44 complete with upgraded 4340 Yukon axles with Super Joints, Detroit TrueTrac, front disks brakes, and Warm Premium Locking Hubs. Rear axle is a big bearing rear axle out of full size Bronco (custom cut for this Early Bronco), the axles themselves are Yukon 31 spline. It has rear disk brakes and Lock Right Locker. Streetable, but also very capable for the trail.WIRING/ELECTRICAL-OUT- Shot wiring, inadequate charging systems, hardware store wire nutsIN- Completely rewired with Centech Bronco specific harness. Electronic Fuel Injection duties performed by RJM Bronco specific wiring harness. 4G 130+ amp alternator. H4 Headlights. Die Hard sealed Platinum battery.OTHER LITTLE DETAILS-IN-Full family cageNew floorpansBedlined interiorFull hardtop2x6 custom rockski/rockersDrivers side cowl storage boxProtofab rear bumperBottle opener in dashPAINT AND BODY DETAILS-Paint is ‘74 Ford Sequoia Brown. There are a couple runs that I noticed - passenger quarter, passenger inside rocker, and driver inside door is what I saw. Overall, looks good and very presentable, but you’d want fix the run in the passenger quarter panel if you wanted a show truck. I do have a quart of paint left if you want to have it fixed. The new hood scoop didn’t hit all the holes in the original hood. The rockskis are slightly mismatched. A patch panel was needed on the rear floor. The rear quarter seam was cleaned, dug out, and epoxy seam sealed prior to paint. The front inner fenders have older patch panels (typical) and the bottom of the passenger rocker had some rot (why the solid rockskis were welded in). The back of the passenger rocker still has a hole that could be patched, but the rockskis are solid. Doors open and close quite easily as they should, but will need weatherstrip if desired. The floors were replaced and new units from Bronco Graveyard welded in. The cowl has a small hole I covered with sealer until it could be properly repaired. I think that about covers most of the bad areas I’ve found. I planned to drive the truck and fix these as time allows. I wanted a respectable, reliable truck to drive, but not a nailbiter show queen. ***I've just added a walk around video link below and included pictures of some of the issue areas and some older shots. I will include a driving video and more photos if time allows this week. s157.photobucket.com/user/66to77/library/Old%20School%20to%20New%20School?sort=3&page=1What else is left to do? Title it, plate it, and drive the doors off it! Add some Bronco emblems to the fenders, paint the gas caps or get some chrome ones, weatherstrip, door mirrors (I have brand new ones I will include), maybe a spare tire and swing away and some tunes and backseat if desired. No reserve auction! The auction will end where it ends and truck will be sold to the highest bidder. Seller reserves the right to end the auction if item is no longer for sale per Ebay rules.Truck was built for weekend fun and driving back home in comfort. I’ve included a breakdown of all the new parts, I started to add up. Next to items that I didn’t look up the receipt on I did a “estimated” price. All of these I plugged in on the big time low side of the cost. For example, I plugged in a low $2000. for the rebuilt motor, but I think I have closer to $3500 or $4000. invested in it (would need to go through the mountain of receipts). I did not include the original purchase price of the Bronco or any shipping. All ready at 17K+! I just stopped there. Truck is sold completely “as-is” with no warranties expressed or implied. Illinois title is my name and ready to go. A non-refundable Paypal or cash deposit of $2000. is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Seller reserves the right to refuse bidders with less than 20 positive feedback points. New bidders with zero feedback should contact me directly prior to bidding if they wished to be taken seriously. I’m not really interested in listing, relisting, and all the nonsense. Final payment is due at pickup in cash or agreed payment with seller prior to pickup. Cash or certified bank wire preferred. Vehicle and title will not be delivered or shipped until full payment is clear and made. Paypal not accepted for final payment. I’d like to get this truck to someone who can enjoy it right away. Additional questions, John can be reached directly at eightfourseven.7nine1.three5two4. Please leave a message and I will return your call if I do not answer. Good luck and happy bidding.
