Vehicle Detail

Vehicle History: My dad bought this car back in '86 from i believe the original owner. It was a daily driver for him until about 10 years ago when he pulled it into my grandfathers barn and left it there. It was started occasionally the first couple of years it was parked there. It has not been started in the last 8 years. It doesn't have a battery in it, and even if it did, I feel strongly it would take additional work to get it to run. The upholstery has been redone and electronic ignition was put in. Other than that it's all original. The condition of this car is rough. The body is straight. However, there is some rust along the rocker panels near the wheel wells in a few spots. The interior is in need of restoration. Rodents have set up shop in there so use your imagination. I tried to take a lot of pictures but I'm not a photographer. I tried to get close ups of the important areas and any rust I found. Not sure of the condition of the electrical but I'm gonna imagine it needs work. The mileage is over 100,000 but not sure exactly what it is. The odometer is not accurate. The tires need to be replaced as they are all flat, and one wheel cover is missing. It does still have the high lift jack in the trunk though. It came with factory a/c but the compressor is in the trunk and probably needs to be replaced. The top needs to be replaced. The thing this car has going for it is it's rarity. Chevy made 6,456 convertible impalas that year and few of them came with the turbo-jet 402 with dual exhaust. The engine alone is worth some money. It came with electric locks and windows and front and rear bench seat. It's a big car with a big engine. The car is located in Thornton, Texas. It is way out in the country so try and figure out what shipping is going to cost before bidding. The buyer will be responsible for arranging and paying for shipping. I'll help with arrangements only on my end but not with cost. ****PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY**** This is a car that needs a full restoration by someone in a position to do so. For someone who has the time and resources to fix up this car, they will have an awesome and rare find. In spite of that, however, I want to mention some things so the buyer understands fully the situation with this vehicle. It is far from an instant driver. It will need a roll back to get it home, and it is way out in the country in Texas. I have listed what I have seen and know about this vehicle. There maybe things wrong with it that I am not aware of, and thus, I am unable to list those problems. Because of this, it will be sold "as is", and I will not be held responsible for any problems I was unaware of and, thus, didn't mention. Please keep this in mind before bidding and only bid if serious and if you are 100% okay with these conditions. We have already had one person win it and then change their mind at the last minute because they did not read the fine print. If you have a question, please ask before bidding. I will try to the best of my ability to answer it. If I don't know, I will be honest about that. If you are not comfortable with me not having an answer to a question, please don't bid. Thanks for looking!!!
