Vehicle Detail
This Geo Metro has been our daily driver for the last 12 years. We purchased it in 2002 with 57,000 miles, and it currently is just a bit over 158,000. Carfax said it was originally a rental, and we are either the third or fourth owners. It's been a good little car, but just a few weeks ago it started making a "ticking" sound from the engine that sounds like a stuck lifter, and I don't have the time or tools to fix it myself. So I'm hoping to sell it to someone who can. As noted in the listing, this has the larger 4-cylinder engine and an automatic transmission. So, gas milage is "only" about 30MPG for the in-town stop-and-go traffic we normally drive it in, but it's reasonably peppy and easy to drive. It's never been in a major accident. A couple of minor accidents in the last few years mean that it has new headlight cases and a replaced front bumper cover. The front corner of the left fender and hood were slightly bent and professionally repaired; I've included a photo of the underside of the hood where it was repaired to show that it's properly put back straight rather than a blob of bondo. There are typical parking-lot dings on the sides; the worst is behind the passenger door, and shows clearly in the photo. There's no rust; I believe it's always been a California car. The interior is reasonably clean for its age -- a bit of dirt on the seats and crud on the console, but nothing horrible, and no odors. (In particular, never smoked in to my knowledge.) No major fabric rips. The airbag light is on, due to an open circuit on the driver's side, and the horns don't work -- my guess is a bad connection in the steering wheel. Also, the air conditioning doesn't blow cold air. Otherwise, everything is in good shape -- all lights and everything works fine, the heater and fan are good, et cetera. It's got a circa-2004 Pioneer aftermarket CD/stereo that will play MP3s on a CD. Or, if you prefer, I'll also include the original radio / tape player.
