Vehicle Detail
Check out this 1989 Dodge Ramcharger! This is one of the original SUV's...they don't make them like this anymore! It's got all the "character" you'd expect for the mileage, but it's cosmetically decent. It's been re-painted at some point, but whomever did it actually did a nice job. It's accumulated some scuffs and scratches over the years, but it's a nice looking truck from the outside. The interior is in excellent condition for a 25 year old vehicle, and the power windows and locks work as they should. The truck does have a/c, which stopped working some time ago. Instead of fixing it, the previous owner re-purposed it and hooked it up as an air compressor to re-inflate the tires after a beach cruise...no waiting on line at the air station! It's been outfitted with sturdy anchor points for a roof rack, so if you're going somewhere that you're taking too much stuff to fit in the HUGE rear storage area, you can go up! This truck is very reliable...it starts right up and runs well, and the transmission shifts properly. As you'd expect for the mileage, it does burn some oil. The 4WD works as it should, as does the power steering and brakes. The CARFAX is clean, with no accidents. The buyer will receive a clear NJ title with the designation that "the odometer has exceeded its mechanical limits and the reading started again at zero", as is required by Federal law. Bidding will start at a very reasonable $500, and this truck will sell. If you have any questions, please ask! I can be reached at (201) 261-0900 x136. I got a question about the rust over the tailgate so I posted some more pics of that area and the rest of the roof. Also included a pic of one of the rear anchor points for a roof rack (meant to work like a drip rail), and the scuff on the drivers front fender...probably from a loose tie down strap from the bumper to a roof rack. The passenger side fender DOES NOT have a matching scuff. Also got a question about bondo...I'll try to get a better look in the next day or two...we're still digging out from the last snow storm and getting ready for another this weekend. As soon as I get a good look I'll post what I find. On Mar-01-14 at 13:10:52 PST, seller added the following information: I've been asked about whether there's any bondo (I don't see any), and what kind of shape the rockers and doors are in, so I uploaded some more pictures of the rockers on both sides as well as the bottom of both doors. On Mar-01-14 at 13:21:55 PST, seller added the following information: It's in the mid-30's here and this truck has been sitting in the lower lot buried in snow for several weeks. When I went out to take that last round of pictures, I turned the key and it fired up immediately...didn't even have to give it any gas. This is one solid truck...whomever the high bidder is at the end of this auction is definately going to get their moneys worth. Don't miss out on this truck! 3/31/14...I AM RE-LISTING THIS TRUCK. The previous high bidder decided not to come from Minnesota to complete his purchase. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION!!On Apr-04-14 at 04:37:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I've had questions about the low AutoCheck score...if you click on the link to the AutoCheck report, you'll see big red exclamation points in the title and odometer sections. In the odometer section it says "possible odometer rollback/rollover" because it goes from 100,593 on 3/23/1998 to 42,296 on 2/25/2004. Since the odometer in this truck has only 5 digits, the odometer's mechanical limit is 99,999 miles...once it hit 99,999 miles, it started over at 0. So despite the big red exclamation point in odometer section of the report, the odometer history is correct, and the flag is triggered by the odometer rolling over...not being rolled back. If you scroll down to the "full history", you'll see on 3/23/1998 and 2/25/2002 titles were issued that were correctly branded "Exceeds Mechanical Limits", which AutoCheck considers to be a "major title issue" worthy of another big red exclamation point. AutoCheck has a buy back guarantee...basically if you buy a vehicle that AutoCheck says is clear, and you find a problem that wasn't on the report, they'll buy the vehicle from you. All of these "problems" drop the AutoCheck score below the minimum needed for the truck to qualify for the AutoCheck buyback guarantee. In a nutshell, AutoCheck is covering their six. The current odometer reading of 91,006 is not correct...the mileage is actually 191,006, which is disclosed in the description.
