Vehicle Detail

1974 Ford Gran Torino Brougham. This would make a great Starsky & Hutch clone! Car runs and drives great and would make a excellent daily driver, weekend car, or an easy restoration project. Has power steering and manual brakes (front discs) I drove the car approximately 300 miles round trip to Fall Carlisle this year with absolutely no problems, averaging nearly 22 miles per gallon! I would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere in the country. The Good: -Two door-Low miles (38,512 as of auction listing I listed the car in December with 38,079 miles on it then)As you can see I do drive it! This mileage will almost certainly be slightly more by the end of the auction I enjoy driving the car and drive it when the weather is nice. I put over 300 miles on it this week going to Pittsburgh and back. Mileage recorded on PA title when purchased in June of 2013 was 35,000 actual miles -Great interior-Newer radial tires-Good carpet ( Lightly Sun Faded) -Seats are near perfect (small nearly unnoticeable rip at seam on drivers side, approximately 3.5 inches, easily fixed)( See Picture) -Ashtrays and cigarette lighter NEVER used! -Chrome and trim in decent condition -Runs strong-Paint on upper body mainly Factory original and quite presentable. Orange peel on small section of passenger door and some touch up there(see pictures). -Lower half of car (below body side trim) has been repainted in factory color (lower part of doors and quarter panels then blended into rear portion of front fenders) -Part of trunk repainted and blended to match -Vinyl top presentable. (read more about the vinyl top below)-Unique antique car (people always stop to look and talk about it) -Has PA purple antique plates currently (If you are a PA buyer these plates can be transferred with the car instead of getting the 'ugly" new PA plate -Original AM radio with FM converter installed under the dash installed by the original owner -Factory chalk marks still visible under the hood as well as factory tags still in place on engine and radiator support -Trunk is in very nice shape -Factory original hub caps -Garage kept much of its life -Car is a true unmolested survivor! The Bad -Sun faded carpet (can be redyed if you desire, it is in good shape) it still looks good. -Rear bumper has rusted on drivers side and has been covered with chrome tape by previous owner -Pitting on bumpers -Vinyl top is not my favorite, would look much better without it in my opinion. I redyed it and previous owner did some work to the portion below the rear window(See pictures). -Small chips in original paint on hood and wearing thin in spots (it is 40 years old!) The UGLY It is not a 1972 & was not in a Clint Eastwood movie Other: The hood of the car was wet when the pictures were taken so it has water drops on it The pictures with the El Camino were taken at Fall Carlisle. Sorry El Camino is already sold Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the auction early. You can make an appointment to come see the car, just need notice. I check my mail frequently, so feel free to ask any questions at any time. I won't ship the car for you, but will work with shippers if you decide to go that route. Payment and delivery: $500.00 dollar deposit by PayPal due within 24 hours of auction closing Balance cash, cashiers check, or suitable arrangement within 5 days of auction close. Must be picked up or shipped within 2 weeks unless other arrangements are made. Storage can be arranged at $10.00 per day Car MUST be moved within 30 days of auction close or buyer will be charged $50.00 per day over 30 days I have a very low reserve price on the car considering its overall condition. Unlike most sellers I am going to tell you my reserve price! It is $3,000 dollars! THIS is NOT a buy it NOW price. I am losing a bunch of money if I sell the car for this. My LOSS your GAIN! The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early I have the car insured for $8,000 through my collectors policy and to replace it for this price I know you could not find one in this shape with this mileage. The car is not perfect it has had minor touch up and bodywork done to the lower portion of the body and is in my estimation one of the BEST 1974 Torino's you can find out there. Original hard to find fender and quarter trim is included. The trim needs restoration work but you can not find it in the aftermarket. Trust me I tried! If you come look at the car after winning the auction and we MUTUALLY agree to not complete the sale you will need to pay for my fees that eBay charges me and for my time about $200.00 . This is NOT a perfect car but it is a PERFECT base for your DREAM car! Thanks for looking, happy bidding!Ask any questions prior to bidding. Bidders with less than 10 positive feedback MUST ask before bidding or bid may be removed This is necessary because I listed the car once before and "SOLD" it to a buyer with ZERO feedback who thought his bid just meant he could come look at my car and then decide if he REALLY wanted to buy it. He did not like the opera windows and vinyl top! HMMM??? I think that is one of my first things I said I would do away with!
