Vehicle Detail
Up for grabs is this BAD TO THE BONE 1954 Ford Customline... satin black with burnt orange top paint. 4 inch chopped top, lays frame on the pavement with full airbagged chassis, wicked 351 Windsor with c6 automatic, 9 inch rear 3:65s, T bird front seats and door panels upholstered in black/brown vinyl with old school diner seat orange glitter vinyl inserts. Pics dont do the upholstery justice. Custom made black w/ orange metal flake wheel matches the seats. Heating and A/C unit will cook or freeze you out. Car has a very solid rust free body with excellent chop. Body off chassis job with rear 4 link and c-notch, Jamco front disc conversion on stock A-arms. Rack / pinion upgrade with power steering. This car is EXTREMELY fast and sounds fantastic. It will definitely get you some tickets if you have a heavy foot. Very nice pinstriping on hood and decklid, rounded corners, frenched headlights and caddy taillights. Shaved door handles. Car is 95% finished and driven every week. Current registration with TX antique YOM '54 plates. Thats the good stuff... car still needs a few things, such as back glass. My glass man measured the contour of the window line and told me that a late model small car windshield can be cut down to fit and not risk damage to tempered glass. I just stuck a piece of plexi in it and forgot about it. Also I have almost wore the front tires out because I like to ride low and car needs to be driven at full ride height to have correct camber so that was my fault. Back tires are great but changing them is a real bitch because the car is so low its hard to get them out from under the fenders. The dash is from another 54 and is gray in color and missing glove box door and some knobs. Of the stock gauges the fuel gauge is the only one hooked up. Engine vitals are read via some cheapos under the dash. Passenger side door glass is cracked from people slamming the door but its flat and cheap. I haven't quite finished installing all of the upholstery but have everything to finish it, including uncut garnish trim peices. No headliner. The radiator has a pinhole leak but its at the top by the neck so can be patched while in the car. Also I cut some holes in the body right ahead of the rear tires for the exhaust so some bezels need to be made to pretty that up a bit. I did this after the car was painted. Keep in mind this car is old and has had lots of bodywork done (and could use a lot more) so there is some bondo in a few places and fit and finish could be further addressed to improve looks. Car is driven and used A LOT (around 20,000 miles since being put on the road) so scratches and dings and dents are present. Carb needs some fine tuning for the altitude. Maybe a re-jet depending on where you live but make no mistake when you stomp the gas pedal you better hold on to your a** !! Aside from a few odds n ends, this is one sweeeet ride. I'm moving on to the next project so time for this hotrod to change hands. I'm confident that a few other hotrodders will love it as much as I have so I'm offering this sled to the highest bidder! NO RESERVE!!! Bid to win!!! Fly in and drive it home!!! That being said, thanks for looking and thanks for your interest. This 1954 ford is being sold "as is" with no warranty expressed or implied. I can not arrange shipping but will gladly assist with loading the car on your choice of transport. I can store the car safe and secure for any length of time after payment in full is made. I take pride in my feedback score as a seller and enjoy doing business with like-minded ebayers. If you have no transaction history please contact me before bidding.
