This car is a 1958 Edsel Citation 4 door hardtop. I have run this car many times and although I have not started it in a few years, I believe it will run fine. The electric shift has a problem where it will only shift into first gear or reverse. This problem manifested itself about three years ago and I have not taken the time to fix it. There is a scratch in the paint on the lower passenger side front door where the car was put on the trailer too close to the trailer fender. All glass is good. Interior is very good, it was redone before I bought the car. The paint is good with a few chips here and there. The car polishes up very nice. The car has been stored in my shop for several years and it is time for her to go to someone that can take the time to drive and care for her. I bought this car from Sarasota Classic Car Museum. I have always kept the car in a covered building. The car was restored by a private individual and donated to the museum when that person passed away. I bought the car in 2003. It ran and drove when I got it and it still operates well except for the shifting problem. I have no reason to believe that the shifting problem is related to anything other than the electric shift module either in the column or in the motor section of the shifter. I also have a spare steering column that I bought in case I needed parts, I will include the extra column. I am sorry for not having more pictures, I thought I had more. If you are truly interested, I will get it out of my shop, clean it up and take some pictures of what you would like to see. This listing is not a joke, the car is for real and in good condition. It is not a show car but is definitely a head turner. I am not hiding anything, I am just a guy that, at one time, wanted an Edsel and bought a rather nice daily driver. On Mar-18-14 at 06:50:10 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: After receiving an email from a member of the International Edsel Club, I have determined that the paint color of this car is incorrect. The paint code is TEM and does not match the color of the car. On Mar-18-14 at 10:44:56 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 2: I have learned that the Citation came factory with a padded dash and this one does not have the padded dash. The padding was obviously removed and the underlying metal cleaned and painted. On Mar-19-14 at 23:24:56 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: Good News! The shift problem is fixed. Some of the switches in the column shifter were dirty or not making correctly. I cleaned and adjusted them all, lubed up the actuators and it works great. Shifts into all gears so no problems with the shift motor. Now to get a good day when I can wash it and take pictures of the body. Thanks all. On Mar-20-14 at 19:45:53 PDT, seller added the following information: BIG UPDATE: The car is running. Installed new plugs and a battery. She fired right up and purred at idle like a kitten. Tested transmission and all gears work. The car moved under its own power! Exciting. So now the car has gone from dirty and ugly, not running and having a shifter problem, to pretty, running and driving. Exciting. Ninety percent of the work is done to make this a spectacular car.
