Vehicle Detail
1978 Honda CB750F SuperSport (reluctantly) For Sale Only 19,556 miles on it (as of 3/9/2014). But it gets ridden---so the mileage will increase. Description on the next page. The bike is in excellent condition. Mac chrome 4 into-1 pipe installed at 15,652 miles. The stock exhaust goes with the bike. The carbs were re-jetted (105 to 115 mains)(the idle jets s/b just a little bigger) and pod filters were installed. Stock airbox & filter goes with the bike. Also at 15,652 miles: Cam chain adjusted, valve clearances checked, points gap & timing checked & synchronize the carbs. Honda oil filter & Castrol synthetic 4T motorcycle oil changed at 15,182 miles. The rear Dunlop was installed at 14,750 and the front Dunlop at 17,715. Both tires & brakes are good. All lights work as they should. Moto Batt sealed battery still fires the bike up. I also installed a digital volt meter & the charging system is strong. Spares include a larger oil filter bolt, o-rings for the oil filter, battery strap, EBC brake pads, a Clymer service manual, the official Honda advertising literature (I bought the identical bike at Belleville Honda in November, 1977) and some period motorcycle magazine articles on the bike. I also converted the bike to a 530-size chain and sprockets AND I geared the bike way up. It used to turn 6,000 RPMs at 80 MPH---now it only turns about 4,500 if memory serves me. I went from the stock 14/43 combination (3.07 : 1) to 17/40 (2.35 : 1)---about a 24% reduction in gearing. I’m happy with that---although if Carol’s on the back, I’ll usually go to 4th gear to climb the local mountains. New brake pads in all 3 calipers at 11,614. Lots of life left on them. I installed new fork seals, dust caps, retainers & oil at that time, also, and lubed all of the cables. These bikes are going for crazy prices on Ebay the last few months. $10,000 BIN?!?! I’ll take $2,995 for mine. Joe
