Hello you guys, I am selling my beloved 1984 Toyota Van. It won two medals in the 2011 TORC show in Long Beach, California. 1st Place for Best Van and 3rd Place for Best Original in Show ( out of 500 plus vehicles ). The bottom line is that the Van has avoided KIDS, CAMPING AND CARGO its whole life. It is virtually flawless with the exception of what is described above. If your looking for a " Show Van ", something to enter into car shows and want an affordable " show vehicle " to start off with then mine is perfect. You will win something most every time, especially when entering Toyota Car Shows. This is what ''Japanese Nostalgic Magazine '' had to say about my Van at the 2011 ( Toyota Owners and Restorer's Club ) TORC show in Los Angeles: '' Dave Woolley‘s 1984 Toyota Van not only won Best Van, but placed 3rd in Best Original overall. It was absolutely mint both inside and out. Red was a rare color and available only that first year the Van was available, making this one rare bread box. We love the stripes too.'' Japanese Nostalgic Magazine. There is very little to say about this Van and the pictures speak for themselves. The paint is 100% factory original, never re-painted in its lifetime of 30 years. Everything works perfect. The Van has always been highly maintained, always been garaged. The Under Carriage was coated for long term protection when brand new at a cost of $1500 at the time. It has ZERO rust. Both Air Conditioners run cold. The Engine compression is perfect. The Brakes, Clutch, Electrical, Transmission, Exterior Body and Paint are all in impeccable condition. Interior looks brand new. The Tires are in great condition with easily 40k miles left on them. The wheels are in showroom condition. There are no leaks. I have numerous receipts that will go with the Van after the auction is over. The Van has clear Title and is registered in California until 2015. California has strict smog control laws. This Van has passed every time without incident. If you would like more photos taken please email me. I will take them from any vantage point and send them along. I want full disclosure so that you can choose wisely. The Toyota Museum in California said that it was the nicest they had ever seen and because of the extremely rare color ( Red was only made for one year ) they showed interest in buying it at the time. It was not for sale though. If you want to check out the Van then you must send over a qualified ASE Mechanic, mobile only, as I will not take the Van anywhere to have it looked at. The Van carries 7 people comfortably with extra space for cargo. It drives smoothly at 80 miles per hour. It is extremely well built. In my opinion the reserve has been set fairly based on the rarity and condition that the Van is in. I can't give it away and it is not cheap but well worth the investment if your looking for basically a ''blast from the past'', factory showroom condition Toyota Van. I restore old Toyota Land Cruisers and can tell you that this Toyota looks new but has never been restored. It is in all original condition. Thanks for your interest and good luck bidding. On Mar-15-14 at 13:10:58 PDT, seller added the following information: Update Information: A few people wanted to know more about the flaw on the front. It is my opinion, based on my experience, that the slight flaw on the front of the Van ( not visible in pictures ), on the drivers side, just above the headlights, is from the factory and has now, after 30 years, shown up. That is the only explanation that I can think of. As mentioned, IF my reserve is met I will attend to that and get it back to brand new IF the winning bidder wants me to. I have NOT done it ever since I wanted complete stock condition and as mentioned, it is small bit of flake and has never bothered me. Also, I might add, that spot was there when the Van won both medals at the TORC in Long Beach. I did note the other day there is a tiny chip in the windshield. I will replace the windshield for whomever wins the auction IF they want it replaced. Again, some collectors want everything in original condition. Another person ask me about " perfection " on the interior. The only thing, in my opinion, that is not perfect on the inside is where the heel of a persons shoe has rubbed on the back of the carpet while that person is driving the Van. Just to note, we are talking about tiny details here but I know it's important if someone wants a show Van. Just to note, some of these details I will touch up if the winning bidder wants it done. As mentioned, most collectors want all original condition that is why I never did anything. Other things, unless the reserve is met, I will not address. Globalvu3nn3On Mar-18-14 at 23:10:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Attention Bidders: I will do the following to the Van for whoever wins the Auction: 1) Replace Windshield due to tiny chip. 2) Restore trim around windshield since they will be taken it off to put in new windshield. 3) Will restore spot on front of Van ( mentioned above ) so as to look brand new again. This will require a professional to repaint the small red panel just under the windshield. I will do all of this at no charge to the winning bidder so as to send along the Van in the best condition possible for future shows. If the winning bidder does not want this work done then they are to let me know. Also,,,,,,,,,,,,I do have the updated " AUTO CHECK " REPORT available for anyone who would like to review it.
