Vehicle Detail
The 1955 Buick Super (Riviera) has some of the best looking car lines ever made. I've always enjoyed the auction part, but with no bids after 24 hours with 65 watchers, I am removing the "No Reserve". I'm going to place a very, very low reserve on this classic and will rebuild it later if no one wants it, what is another year or two stored in a shed. This car has spent most of its life in Arizona (see plates and metal condition) and will be one of the best to restore that I have ever had. For not being restored it is in exceptional condition for 59 years old and extremely complete, down to the air cleaner and battery hold-down and cables. I placed mystery oil down the spark plug holes / over the valve train, and haven't tried to turn it over. I always spray mystery oil on all of the bolts, hinges, and just let it do its work, while sitting in the sheds. You can see the oil where it has ran down on the rocker panels, that is not rust. Check all of the pictures closely for how complete this car is. I just block sanded it to show how solid the metal is and placed some of the trim on without the proper clips. I did not align the rear spear, just hung it on the clip. The front floor pans will have to be replaced ($135), and I would probably change the back also, but that is up to the buyer. There are some (2" to 4") rust places at the back of the trunk as shown in pictures. The fenders have some rust (1" to 2") and a (2") rust over the driver's headlight, over-all not bad at all and a easy fix. The back seat cannot be located, but back seat from any GM era car will fit, it is the front split seats which are hard to find, Actually the newer Cadillac (2007) compete seats (front and rear ) are almost a perfect fit. All interior trim pieces are in place for patterns and this car has all of the chrome trim above the windows. The front windshield and rear window are fine, The passenger's side door and side window glass have no cracks in them. The driver's side side and rear side window have cracks in the glass. The driver's door has a spring missing from the chrome flipper above the window. The original Buick spare tire rim is present and also have a spare speedometer cluster. Clean title in my hand and delivery is possible at $1.00 per loaded mile prepaid, reasonable distance and timing, call me in advance or any questions: Bill 217- 549 - 8 11 4 Sell to the lower 48 states....my zip code is 62443 by I-57& I-70 in Effingham, IL. You pay and arrange all shipping . I will help load on your trailer or your transporter. Sorry for pulling the no reserve, but I really like this car and thought I would let someone have a great car to rebuild or even put a small block in and drive while rebuilding the original nailhead, but that didn't happen.
