Vehicle Detail
(first high bidder didn't work out) Here is a sharp 1968 Dodge Charger in Dukes of Hazzard Hemi-Orange with original 15” Vector Turbine wheels with new tires. This real head-turner is a hoot to drive and will command attention wherever it goes. Car is for sale locally as well so I will cancel if it sells outright. Here are the details: Originally a 383ci big block w/ 727 torqueflight. Factory paint was dark red. Currently a running 1972 360ci small block w/ 904 torqueflight. Original 8-3/4 "742" rear axle. Rebuilt manual drum brakes on all four corners and they work well. Car is running a newer Holley Performance 650cfm carburetor with a manual choke. One of the front upper control arms was destroyed when pressing out the worn bushings, the car now has new QA1 upper control arms, Delrin bushings, and new ball joints. The front shocks are new- QA1 arms. Has all new belts and hoses. New fuel pump and gas tank. The car starts right up, drives well and stops ewell- the tranny sometimes takes a little longer to shift and every now and then it does an odd shift- but it works. I do not race this car and I drive it responsibly - I find if the trans doesn’t shift where I feel it should, you come off the gas and it pops into the next gear smoothly. Maybe a little Lucas is needed. Some of the gauges need to be plugged in - the speedometer & new mechanical oil pressure gauge work. Has electrical safety circuit-breaker in place of the faulty voltmeter in the dash. New headlight vacuum switch so light-doors open & close properly & head and tail-lights work. No marker nor interior lights are hooked up- the final step would be to finish the wiring, or replace it. Has a blanking plate for radio. The car has a new battery, the charging system is working. The 360 has the ‘72 elec ignition w/ the ballast box and stock silver control module. Odometer doesn't keep mileage. Nice interior: new seat covers, carpeting, headliner, good door panels & complete set of original pads & good emblems. The end-cap for console is there but loose, good seats comes with complete set of seat-belts. Missing door lock-pull on passenger side. Dome light isn’t hooked up but new wires have been run to it. The grill has a little distortion in the center from heat but otherwise is good and solid. Missing the internal ductwork behind dash. Running glass pack mufflers that sound mean and low. No washer bottle and motor needs connecting up, but is fixable. The Maaco paint job is very nice but not perfect, some slight body-work shows some sanding marks in places and has cracks & minor bubbling along rear quarter panels. I don’t know how much of the car was welded, patched or bondo- but assume that there is some here for the age. One small crack at top of passenger door as well. (see image). New front bumper and lower valance- otherwise all chrome is original. THERE ARE NO PATCHES IN THE FLOOR. Car was undercoated originally and it protected much of the underbody. The trunk floor has some rust in the sides (6"x4" on RH side and 1" hole on LH side) and a slight bit of surface rust that I photographed, but otherwise it is original and a solid pan. Frame rails are solid and this car is better than many. Overall a nice clean ’68 that will be a good runner and fun vehicle. COMES WITH a set of “01” Dukes of Hazzard numerals for both doors! Yeee-Haw! Has clear title in my name. Winner to pay $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of win and balance due before car is picked up. I can help load if necessary. I accept Cash or bank-to-bank wire but NO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS please. I cannot hold the car for an extended period so if you plan to bid, please be reasonable. Thanks and if you have more questions or need something specifically photographed, just ask- my email is anteekguy97@aol.com. Thanks for looking!
