Vehicle Detail
1965 Triumph Bonneville T120R. This bike is completely original with 14,272 original miles. It has always been in dry heated storage its entire life. This is a very rare chance to own a completely original '65 Bonneville in unrestored condition only showing some very minor patina that reflects its low mileage. The paint work, the chrome, and the cad plating are all in very nice condition. Original seat is in very nice condition with a minor rub mark. The seat is still soft and pliable. The original owner used to strap his lunch box on with a bungeee strap to ride his new bike to work with pride back in the day. Only marked at the right rear, bottom side and very minor. Original wiring harness and rubbers throughout the bike! Original decals! We even have its original title from when the bike was purchased! Please look at the pictures and get with us on any questions you may have. The pictures speak for the outstanding condition of this bike showing the minor areas of wear expected for a bike of this originality. We can be contacted at (724-974-9586) with questions and more pictures if needed. The bike runs and shifts through all gears as it should with no issues. We are selling the bike to fund other projects we have the and this is only reason we are selling it! The bike is being sold were is as is with no warranties and the shipping is the full responsibility of the winning bidder. We will however help loading on our end to assure the bike leaves in its current fabulous condition! If you have low feedback (10 or less) or negative feedback please contact us prior to bidding! They are only original once and this bike is sure to please. Watch for other listing as we may also be selling our all original 1967 T120R and 1968 T120R Bonneville's as well. Happy bidding and good luck! Yes this is absolutely original matching engine and frame numbers! On Jan-29-14 at 06:49:24 PST, seller added the following information: Dear mc-days, David, Thank you and I will post this on the listing! I have spoke with guys who were dealers back then and they have said that at times when these bike were built that it was possible for different year models to have other parts off shelf used. But I do know you have many years experience and have written a few books on Triumphs and are a very reputable source! In fact I have used your books as references on my restoration work! Again thanks for your kind comments on our bike. Thank you and this will be posted on the question and answer section of my listing! It is probable that this seat, for some reason, was fitted AFTER 1965. You should make any purchaser aware of this issue. -David Gaylin - mc-days From: 441victorovbsaoc To: mc-days Subject: Re: Other: mc-days sent a message about Triumph : Bonneville #301082986860 Sent Date: Jan-29-14 04:49:59 PST Dear mc-days, David, we understand this is the seat that came with the bike as new. The previous owner bought this from the original owner an there were no modification done other than routine maintenance and 1 set of tire changes to our knowledge. The oil tank decals I would also question if they are original? Thank you for your kind words, Chris - 441victorovbsaoc From: mc-days To: 441victorovbsaoc Subject: Other: mc-days sent a message about Triumph : Bonneville #301082986860 Sent Date: Jan-28-14 17:57:10 PST Dear 441victorovbsaoc, You have a magnificent example of the 1965 Bonneville but "completely original" it is not. The seat is CLEARLY an older reproduction or from 1966: the stenciled trademark was not applied to Triumph seats until the following model-year. Some of the decals have been replaced with Mylar stickers which were not used on Triumph motorcycles until 1971. There are a couple of items I would question but this is still an extraordinary example. -David - mc-daysOn Jan-29-14 at 08:07:18 PST, seller added the following information: Dear mc-days, David, I wish I could afford to keep it! But I need to fund other projects. Thanks, Chris - 441victorovbsaoc From: mc-days To: 441victorovbsaoc Subject: Re: Other: mc-days sent a message about Triumph : Bonneville #301082986860 Sent Date: Jan-29-14 07:53:29 PST Dear 441victorovbsaoc, Thanks for the kind words Chris. This '65 Bonneville is the best original example I've seen in a long while. -David - mc-daysOn Feb-04-14 at 04:41:37 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve has been lowered and we are close to meeting it! This bike is being offered for sale locally as well. Once reserve is met this bike will not be sold by any other means other than this listing and will run to end of Auction. When it meets reserve it will be sold to the lucky bidder!
