Vehicle Detail

This is a "very rare" 1972 Carabela 200 MX Carerra that is very original and mostly complete - please look at the photos as everything in the photo is what you are bidding on. Though it has been spray painted grey, the original color of the bike is "yellow" as seen on the cover of the photo of the September 1972 issue of Cycle Guide magazine. The bike was featured as the "New MX Threat". Though I am not a Carabela expert, it is my understanding from talking to others, this was a one or two year only production bike in very limited numbers! It was originally designed for an anticipated 200cc racing class that never got off the ground, so production was halted. The bike chassis was designed based on a Maico frame and the bike was infamous for excellent handling and speed. The motor does turn over and it appears to shift through all the gears. All the levers work and the clutch feels strong and I believe this to be a low hour bike as it appears to have the original tires. This is an easy restoration. I have a couple of other bikes I have my eye on, otherwise because of its rarity I would not be selling this. Here is your rare opportunity to own one, so thanks for looking and good luck bidding. Will consider swaps and/or offers.
