I bought her in September 2009 in Tacoma, WA. The owner at that time told me he was to old to drive anymore and that he only used it on Sundays to go fishing. I 100% believe the odometer for that reason has not turned over and that the 52,970 miles as of this posting is the actual miles of the Bus. I drove her down the coast from Washington to my house in Manhattan Beach, CA. What an amazing drive on the Pacific Coast Highway! Only a VW Bus can offer that kind of breathtaking views. It was garaged at my home in Manhattan Beach for 3 years while I restored her and all the engine work and updating was done at Automeister. If you live in Southern California you know of or have been to Automeister and they are the best in the business. All interior and exterior add ons, replacements, and accessories were purchased at J Bugs, Bus Depot, and GoWesty and audio work was done at Manhattan Audio in Hermosa Beach, CA. I have all receipts and invoices for all the purchases and work done on the vehicle. I cut no corners on restoring, updating, and upgrading the bus. There is nothing you need to do after you purchase this vehicle but get in and start your own memories and adventures. Currently the VW Bus is garaged in Celebration, FL where Walt Disney World is located. I can work with you and have it loaded on a truck to be shipped to you(I recommend Red Carpet Transporters). I can also meet you in the Tampa Bay/ Orlando area. The pictures and video pretty much say it all about this VW Bus. For fun over the last 4 years I look on ebay to look at other bus's and I have not seen one other bus with all the extras I have put into mine. I have a perfect rating on ebay for over 16 years so bid and buy with complete confidence. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. My facebook page is Brandon Dean Tecklenburg and I have a couple photo albums with just the VW Bus pictures so feel free to friend me so you can look at more pictures. Questions from other members : Volkswagen : Bus/Vanagon VW BUS VANAGON CAMPER TRANSPORTER TYPE 2 WESTFALIA Question & Answer Answered On Q: What's the cruising speed down the highway? Nov-23-13 A: the bus has had no problem driving the speed limit on interstates and highways in california and florida. before i bought her i test drove her and got her up to 85 miles an hour and then again i got her up to 80-85 mph after i updated, upgraded and fixed the engine parts. but that was just for for seconds to test her out. she rides smooth and the engine doesnt make noise, shake, stutter, or anything odd. again, i didnt buy the vw bus for the need for speed, i am usually cruising the pacific coast highway, gulf blvd, or a1a. i have had no problem passing cars when need be. when i am driving normally at 45-55 miles an hour i average 24-28 miles per gallon. if you live in the mountains or are wanting to drive in the mountains you will definitely be in the right lane as the one weakness of the bus is driving up mountains. i drove once to big bear and lake tahoe and i was in the right lane going up hill and i was driving pretty slow. when i go down hill i just shift in gear 2 or 3 to downgrade so i am not riding the breaks. you will have no problems accelerating on flat land of any kind. please look at the video i put up today showing me driving and shifting. Q: Hello from the Tampa Bay area. In regard to the rust problem, is it around the window rubber and that sort of thing or is it more extensive? Is anything rusted all the way though, and how are the floor pans intact, rusted though, etc? Thank you! Nov-23-13 A: Hello, nothing is rusted all the way thru, there are no holes, the floor pans are intact. the bus is in no mechanical or in neccessary immediate need to have a rust problem fixed. there is just normal standard rust spots that are common for a 35 year old bus. the bus has everything you would want in it and i have take 6 new videos of the bus today for your viewing. http://youtu.be/hlwSywyQbRs http://youtu.be/4bvj9r0LlYI http://youtu.be/4bvj9r0LlYI http://youtu.be/4bvj9r0LlYI http://youtu.be/N095y7HeQ_Q http://youtu.be/7hhT6C3Rjzo Q: Do you have any video of the bus running from start? Thanks, David Tait 512-567-8111 Nov-23-13 A: Hello here is video of the bus running! and here are also some new videos of the bus taken today! http://youtu.be/hlwSywyQbRs http://youtu.be/4bvj9r0LlYI http://youtu.be/4bvj9r0LlYI http://youtu.be/4bvj9r0LlYI http://youtu.be/N095y7HeQ_Q http://youtu.be/7hhT6C3Rjzo Q: Is the white stripping and green paint original? Are the L'ouverture windows nice and tight? Nov-20-13 A: The exterior of the bus had a new paint job right before i purchased it in September 2009. I purchased touch up paint a year ago for a small couple scratches. The left over touch up paint I will give the buyer. All bay windows open and close properly. All screens open and close. I have never experienced a leak coming from any of the windows. None of the windows are loose or move. There are signs of cosmetic rust that of course would exist from a 35 year old vw bus. If someone is buying this vw bus and lives in southern California there is a company called Royal Trends in Hawthorne in the same building as JBugs and I took the bus there for an estimate for removing the rust and I still have the estimate invoice with all my other paperwork of work done on the bus. I have kept every receipt and invoice so you will have a detailed history of everything, done, added, updated, replaced, upgraded, and all the added extras and accessories. Q: Excellent job keeping this beauty in great condition! :D Nov-20-13 A: Very much appreciated! I will have the vw bus professionally detailed inside and out, check air in tires, and add oil for the winning bidder as a thank you the day before or day of the bus being picked up or shipped. If you are shipping the bus I recommend an enclosed carrier for the bus to keep it out of the elements if travelling a far distance. I have always garaged the vehicle. If you are planning to carport or street park the bus i also recommend going to gowesty.com or busdepot.com and purchasing the vw bus cover. I keep getting ebay messages to add more photos. ebay only allows me to put a max of 24 pictures on the listing. in my description i have asked if interested buyers want more pictures to go to my facebook page 'brandon dean tecklenburg' and look at my vw bus pictures. you can also email me at brandondean@hotmail.com and i will send you them via email. you an also call me at 310.936.5184 if you have any questions. i would say the majority of everyones concerns are that they want to make sure there is no major problems that once they buy the bus they will have to pay for to get fixed. there is no mechanical problems with the bus. it always starts, the engine runs great. everything works in the bus. i spent over $11,000 on the bus to have it in tip top shape. the only reason i am selling the bus is because i am having my first baby and i will not be getting a lot of use out of the bus after christmas. please read my auctions description again and see all the the parts that were purchased. there is nothing to do for the bus mechanically. i took my bus for everything to automeister in manhattan beach, ca. google them and you will see amazing reviews. they have been around since the early 1970s, same two guys working there. they are the best. manhattan audio did my stereo, speakers, addtional cigareet lighters for more power, and the relay switch and marine battery with the two 800 and 400 watt outlets. the bus only went to the best for work. this bus does not have the weak 1700cc engine the vw bus's of the early 70's have, the bus has a 2.0 engine.
