Vehicle Detail
Nice 1964 Caddy Deville Hardtop Up For Auction With NO RESERVE94k original miles, 429 V8. It's the most highly optioned pre-1965 Caddy I've ever seen; it has air conditioning, cruise control, climate control, power vent windows, power door locks, six way power seats, deluxe two tone interior with front and rear fold down armrests, auto dimming headlights as well as autolamps (it can turn on the headlights automatically when it gets dark), tilt steering wheel, rear defrost with blower fan and working am/fm radio and working power antenna. I bought the Caddy in from an older gentleman who owned it since the early 80's and told me the mileage is original. My mechanic told me it looks like the original mileage considering the overall mechanical and cosmetic condition. I've put under 1000 miles on the Caddy since I've had it, about two years. Mechanical: since I've had the Caddy I haven't had to do much. I've done a new brake master cylinder, new generator with voltage regulator, new belts and a full tuneup. The previous owner had the transmission rebuilt in 2002 and a complete exhaust system done a couple of years previous to that. The wide whitewalls have good tread but starting to show some dry rot, good for local cruising but not long trips. The power windows all work, the power vent windows work but the driver's side needs a little help. The a/c compressor has a belt on it but doesn't blow cold, I never looked into it. The motor is nice and quiet, no noises, even on cold mornings. Cosmetic: the Caddy is in nice "driver" condition. The interior was completely redone in the mid-90's, a nice combination of plush velour and leather. The interior restoration included the door panels, visors, headliner and new seat cushioning. The paint is about 20 years old, it's a good "ten-footer", she looks better in the pix than in person. The chrome on the bumpers is dull but no rust, dents or peeling and the front bumper corners are solid, a common area for rot on the 1963 and 1964 models. Overall she presents well as seen in the pix. She's not a showcar by any means but a nice driver. All the directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work as well as wipers and horn. Engine always starts easily, even after sitting for a month or two. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly. Runs very strong, 308 HP 429 V8 moves this big girl with LOTS of power, idles perfectly, shifts smoothly, stops easily and the suspension is luxurious. No leaks, garage floor always dry when I take her out. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well, I'm a motivated seller. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. If you need it I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used many times in the past; they're professional, reliable and have great rates. This is a NO RESERVE auction, top bidder gets her!Nice classic Caddy which will only appreciate in value! Any questions feel free to call or email. 914-224-3230
