Vehicle Detail
The coolest patina isn't man-made. This thing has all the streaks and rust in the right places. Now I did get it from a barn, but I have no idea when it was last used on a farm . . .It has what looks like the original 216 inline stovebolt 6 banger, and it starts easily and runs good! (video shot with no warm up, previous start day before available. Can't load it here.) It does drive, but I haven't driven it on the street, just down my long driveway. It has been lowered, stanced, dropped, depending what generation you are, with blocks! The horn works, has a new battery, and some new wiring to make it run--but nothing else electrical works. The windows go up and down with help and the drivers door will open from the inside, passenger side is fine.If you are wanting that patina rat rod style, you couldn't ask for a better start. Do a little wiring of gauges and lights and you can drive it as you restore it.4 new hubcaps, decent tires, and "correct" wheels. Any questions gladly answered, John.On Nov-15-13 at 10:01:38 PST, seller added the following information: Added some pics of the underside--full disclosure and all. This is NOT a restored truck, it is a patina truck with 65 years of oil, grease and corrosion. When I said 'decent' tires, to clarify, they all have a little tread, aren't weather cracked and hold air.And BONUS, I think all the gauges work now!! I am amazed at the popularity of this truck. You can see my other listing for a nice Malibu posted a couple hours earlier than this one. It has half as many looks, and less than half as many watchers as this little truck! With this many bids and action, it wouldn't be fair to end it early but thanks for asking.
