Vehicle Detail

Nice 1976 Caddy Eldo Convertible Up for Auction with NO RESERVE - Low Miles, One Owner, Original Title 87k original miles, 500 V8. Options include disc brakes, telescoping and tilt steering wheel, 60/40 split power bench seat, twilight sentinel / auto dimming lights, power trunk release and power trunk pulldown. All original including am/fm auto-seek stereo.Mechanical: Many new front end parts in 2010 including axles, bearings, bushings, sway bar links, ball joints, and more. If you've had a 70's Eldorado you know how the front end wears out, considering it's a front wheel drive vehicle with a 500 V8 sitting on top of it. Caddy handles like new now, the front end is nice and tight, no wandering. New exhaust system from engine back in 2009, done right with Walker muffler and all welded pipes, Caddy runs nice and quiet except for the driver's side exhaust manifold which is beginning to get loud. Other work over the last decade or so includes new front disc brakes, new radiator, alternator, new tires, and various electrical repairs. The a/c has been changed over to modern freon. My mechanic told me it's definitely the original mileage considering the overall mechanical and cosmetic condition. I bought the Caddy in Spring 2012 from the original owner in Maine who is relocating, I even have the original title from 1976. The Eldo has always been immaculately maintained, recent full tuneup, oil change and coolant flush. Cosmetic: The 76 Eldorado has always been in a garage so the floors, trunk, frame and body are solid. The body is very straight, no accidents ever. The Caddy was painted about 15 years ago, and the body shop replaced the cracking front and rear fiberglass fender fillers with brand new pieces (complete set cost over $600 plus paint and installation). The fiberglass body filler between the passenger side rear taillight and the bumper has a small vertical crack. The interior is nice, no rips on seats, power seats work, small cracks in the middle of the dash, the driver's door armrest is starting to crack a little (not visible in the pix) and it could use a new rug or a good cleaning. The top is good, no rips, goes up and down easily. Power windows work well. A local Caddy enthusiast bought the fiberglass boot cover from me when I saw him at a car show last month and mentioned I was selling the Eldo (he has a convertible Eldorado too) so it is not included. The convertible top replaced in 2000, top goes up and down easily with the push of a button, no help necessary. The top is in great shape, could just use a good cleaning. The windows could use new weatherstripping. The chrome bumpers and brightwork are in great shape, light fading on the top part of rear bumper. I have two sets of hubcaps for the car, the set with the black inserts are on it now. When you look at, get into and drive this car it's clear that's she's always been treated with love and has spent her life as a "Garage Queen". She's roadworthy, all directional/brake/turn signal/headlights work, even the cool multi-color fender indicators. Engine always starts easily, even after sitting for a month or two. Cruises nicely on the highway, holds the road perfectly, 8.0 liter V8 moves this big girl easily up the highway with LOTS of power. The Caddy tracks straight as an arrow and brakes evenly, no pulling or fading. She idles perfectly and the suspension is luxurious. The Eldo is almost spotless underneath; floors and trunk completely solid, body never patched, the Eldo has been a Garage Queen all her life. No leaks, garage floor always dry when I take her out. VIN is 6L67S4Q402074. Overall, drives like an American classic luxury car should. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the Caddy is for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well. I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. If you need it I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used many times in the past; they're professional, reliable and have great rates. This is a NO RESERVE auction, top bidder gets her!Nice classic Caddy which will only appreciate in value! Any questions feel free to call or email. 914-224-3230
