1948 Triumph Speed twin 500cc, Nice, older restoration. Runs very nicely, first kick starting. The Amaranth Red paint is very nice, and the chrome in excellent shape. This Triumph has been verified "matching" numbers bike. Matching in fact that the motor and frame were delivered together from the factory new to Los Angeles on April 24, 1948. There is an older certificate from the Triumph Owners club. A rare and last of the panel tank models from Triumph before changing the design. The panel Amp meter and Oil pressure gauge appear to be original, and working. The detachable work light is all there and fully functioning. AJ Lewis completely rebuilt the engine and transmission. AJ was the tuner and engine builder for Johnson motors race team for many years. Many OEM parts used in the restoration. Never started after the original restoration until recently. A new, correctly marked Amal was obtained, along with a new Morgo oil pump.
