Vehicle Detail

Selling my fun and easy to drive 95 Tercel. This is a great little car for getting around town and is easy to park and maneuver. It gets great gas mileage and is easy to maintain, especially for a do-it-yourselfer. I am moving across country, otherwise I would keep this car and make the minor repairs that it needs to keep it running strong...it's not the prettiest car, but it's got old school Toyota dependability. It has just over 242,000 miles. Manual trans. Power steering. Here's what I know about the car: The Good: Great MPG. Depending on driving habits, I've gotten between 25 and 30 MPG.Clean title.Registration valid until September 2014 (in Oregon)Toyota dependability. If you know about older Toyotas, you know what I mean.A/C works and blows cold.Heater works and heats well.Easy to maintain for the do-it-yourselfer.Did a tune-up (plugs, coils, PCV valve, oil, filters) about 5,000 miles ago. Also topped-off fluids, switched out old headlamps for newer, higher-power bulbs, put in floor mats, and wiper blades.Brakes are good.Clutch is good.Radio & cassette player (yes, cassette player) works well. The Not-So-Good: Some dents and dings, plus some rust. It's an 18 year old beater that lived in Oregon and Iowa. The dent in the front driver's side happened when the previous owner struck a deer...the deer and driver weren't seriously injured. Engine light is on, codes are: PO335: Crankshaft position sensor. You can get the part for $55 online or for around $150 from an auto parts store. The car starts fine when it's cold, but after the car has warmed up, it will experience extended cranking time before starting due to the faulty sensor. But it WILL start. PO420: Catalyst efficiency below threshold, which means that the catalytic converter isn't working at 100% or the O2 sensor needs replacing, neither of which will prevent the vehicle from driving normally. PO401: EGR flow insufficiency...could be just a clogged port into the valve, which would only require a cleaning and no new parts. Heater works well and gets the car warm but I can smell antifreeze when it's on, so it probably needs a new heater core/heater radiator. I never fixed it because the heater works perfectly and the odor never bothered me or any of my passengers.
