Vehicle Detail
Numbers matching survivor. This is a factory AC car and most of the system is already installed. Someone removed the compressor, probably to gain horsepower. All it needs is the compressor/condenser re-installed (included). Both interior and exterior are gorgeous and nearly perfect. I’d say it’s ‘auction worthy’ at this point. All decals and emblems, trim, lights, etc. complete. Interior Lombardy cloth is solid with no tears. All knobs, switches and trim complete. I installed an old school AM/FM cassette deck with equalizer and new 6 x 9’s. Undercarriage is not perfect but not much rust, if any. 2010 – New carpet. Complete brake job. New BF Goodrich 255/60/15 Tires. New Champion 4-row aluminum radiator. New Optima battery. November 2012 – complete paint and Phoenix brand decals. Stripped many layers of old paint off and dealt with some very minor door and fender rust. Professional body work and paint that included minor use of new technology filler on door bottoms and to even out the door/fender gaps. Very straight lines now. Applied 4 coats of OEM correct white and 4 coats of clear. Aftermarket wheel flairs and front center spoiler. It looks great! To be done yet: The power window motors are failing (weak). They are $120 each from Classic Industries Catalog. The driver’s side glass is scratched from riding up and down the track without the protective felt patch. The oil pressure/water temperature gauge is not connected (I believe it works though). The vinyl dash has a 6 inch scar in it that someone has attempted to repair. It looks OK but this would be my next improvement. The motor and transmission: It starts and runs great. It is loud and throaty because it has Flowmasters or something equivalent. It has a very good looking professionally done full dual exhaust system. It does have a rear wheel issue that I have not identified…upon backing up there’s a ‘grabbing’ noise and we're speculating that the left rear wheel bearing needs to be repacked. Fairly minor repair. Transmission shifts smooth and is trouble free. Guys, this car is so cool. It’s a pampered survivor that looks and runs great for a 36 year old. The white and red Lombardy cloth is a fairly rare combo. I would argue that in the years to come the white/red will be more valuable than the thousands of black TA’s out there. The 77 TA’s are already appreciating and should literally double and triple in value as the 50 year olds who owned them back in the 70’s snap them up. Great driver and great investment. Car is stored in Tempe and available for inspection, test drive, local pick up or shipping. Require a 10% deposit 48 hrs after auction closes (please disregard the $500 deposit that ebay defaults to). Don't hesitate to email with your questions or requests.
