Vehicle Detail
Originally, this car was nearly rust free from Eastern Washington and Idaho. Any minor bits of surface rust were replaced and treated. This car drives excellent, starts right up and is pretty zippy! Engine runs great was fully built from by Connecting Rod NW and is still under warranty! The brakes and steering are both tight and feel right. The car was restored to stay original, with 6 volt! Has a clean Washington State title in my name, it is registered and licensed. Here's what's been done: BODY The VW was painted recently with stock 1955 Beetle color. (Color code L313 Leed Green) PPG urethane base / multiple clear coats, polishes and waxed. There are no paint imperfections. Bumpers are clean, good chrome and dent free. New German running boards and body trim. New wiring cover (Hides the dash wires when you fill it up! Pop out rear side window, all glass is OEM VW with the exception of the windshield. ALL NEW SEALS -- Every seal is new and has been replaced (doors, windows, decklid, trunklid.) Car smells great and like new. There are no drafts or odd odors when driving it. The undercarriage was stripped to bare metal and then coated. DRIVETRAIN The 1200CC motor has approximately 100 miles on it. Built stock with the exception of a big bore kit, increasing the displacement to 1341. Kept is simple to keep with the classic look of the car. Engine was built by Connecting Rod NW and is still under warranty!! Every belt and hose was replaced. New clutch and throw-out bearing was also installed. Installed a new 6VBosch Starter. Stock heater boxes (hooked up, diversion flappers to go from the rear to the front are not operable but they come with the car. You can turn it from hot to cold with the levers just fine). Transaxle runs quiet, and is in great condition, added urethane bushings. The wheels and tires are in great condition. Shocks are not OEM but they do not leak or make any noise. No slop in the steering box, car tracks and steers wonderfully. INTERIOR All of the original interior was completely removed, the underside of the roof and the floors were wire wheeled and coated with POR 15 before being covered with factory style insulation which includes a thermal barrier new TMI headliner was installed, TMI carpet kit in Oatmeal, and TMI Door panels, kick panels and seat covers in Beige were installed. E brake has a new boot as does the gear shifter. The interior knobs were previously converted from gray to ivory so all the knobs are brand spanking new. Also installed were new glove box liner a new OEM speaker in the proper location. The only things that are not finished in the vehicle are as follows: We haven't purchased visors, dome light, door armrests, or seat belts. You can order these in the oatmeal color. Radio is installed but not hooked up to the speaker yet and the antenna cable is missing ($5 part). New battery installed yesterday. Overall this car would be a really nice show car and/or daily driver. We are sad to be selling it on such short notice, but family comes first and we need the money. Whoever purchase this car will not be let down. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. I will be happy to answer them all.
