This street-friendly hot hot cruiser is powered by a pump-gas built 454 cubic inch V8 paired with a stout TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. The power is transferred to a beefy Ford 9-Inch Rear End with highway gears. This one is Power Tour ready. Enjoy our presentation and feel free to contact our office direct at 972-563-3344, or Bill at 214-683-2811 with any questions. Enjoy our presentation. The exterior is finished in a classic Burgundy base/clearcoat with custom flame work by Mr. T. The paint is very good to excellent throughout as is the body. This one was built to drive and show. Further inspection of the exterior will confirm custom 15-inch wheels with raised white letter tires and nice brightwork throughout. In 1962, the Bel Air was Chevrolet's mid-sized model with engine options ranging from an anemic 6-cylinder all the way up to a 409 cubic inch song-inspiring powerhouse. This example sports a later 454 cubic inch motor. The engine compartment features accessories such as power steering and air conditioning. The firewall, inner fenders, and core support are clean and solid. Braided stainless steel coolant hoses and wire looms are a few custom fetaures. Things were left simple and functional under the hood. Induction is courtesy of a Holley 4bbl. carburetor atop an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake manifold. Open the doors to high performance and luxury. The interior for this classic '62 Chevy Bel Air is custom built throughout while retaining the original dash. This car was disassembled and re-finished throughout. Classic antelope and beige vinyl accents are molded around this interior décor. The bucket seating features a uniquely integrated center console that stretches the length of the interior. Custom door panels, headliner, and carpeting matches this combination to a " T " . The 4-spoke steering wheel sits atop the tilt steering column with authority, complimented with aftermarket gauges to monitor oil, water, and temperature along with a console mounted tachometer. This unique center console is stitched vinyl wrapped with integrated air conditioning vents and speakers. The sound system of choice is an Alpine AM/FM cassette head unit. The lights, brakes, turn signals, horn, and wipers are working as they should. The wheels of choice are Cragar 15-inchers wrapped in B. F. Goodrich Radial T/As. Stopping duties are taken care of via power-assist 4-wheel disc brakes. There is a beefy 9-inch Ford rear end tucked between these 235/60 rear tires. The trunk has plenty of room. It is carpeted and includes air conditioning components along with a rear-mounted battery. The underbody will confirm a good solid car throughout. The floor pans have been replaced and the frame is original and solid throughout. The TH400 automatic transmission has been fitted with a polished finned B&M trans pan with drain. The indestructible 9-inch features rear disc brakes and highway-friendly gearing for long distance cruising. Enjoy our remaining photos and photo slideshow below.
