Vehicle Detail
This is a very original Civic VX, which is famous for it's gas mileage- 48 mpg city, 55 hwy. The car was repainted 1 year ago at a cost of $4800, and it is beautiful. They did a top notch job, pulled all glass, doors, hatch, emblems mouldings, etc. A good paint job costs more because of the prep work, and they did everything. Obviously we weren't planning on selling the car when we spent this much on making it look new. We have receipts from Rebreu Body and Frame in Austin on paintwork. It was green before, it is now burgundy, or as some people call it, Dr. Pepper. Mechanically, it is in superior condition. No rust at all, none. It had no rust when we got it as it is a southern car from North Carolina and Texas. This car has the original VX wheels, which weigh 9 lbs and are important to the gas mileage. They are hard to find. Just inspected by a garage, the only problem was a cv boot, which has been replaced. The only thing not working is the AC, not sure what the problem is. It worked for almost a year, then quit. Tires are brand new, they have less than 100 miles on them. We have receipts on them as well. Starts easily, doesn't smoke, no noises, shifts great, suspension is great. Timing belt and water pump were done at 144K, so this car should need nothing for 80K except normal maintenance. Runs beautifully down the highway. It has a very good AMFMCD high definition radio. The cars are super efficient but easily keep up with traffic. 6000 rpm redline, and the car weighs 2094 lbs. According to Road and Track, top speed was 123 mph, but with 4 kids I won't be trying that! I have another one I bought brand new back in 1992 and drive every day. (The white one in the picture) It has 423,000 miles on the original engine and chassis and is still in great shape. I just got back from a trip to Des Moines, Iowa from Austin and got 57.7 mpg. I just brought up my other one so you can see that these cars will go forever if you treat them right. I would suggest doing a google search on Civic VX, you will see why people want them. Thank you for looking! On Oct-18-13 at 06:59:42 PDT, seller added the following information: There has been confusion on the miles on this car, it has 156K. I have a SECOND one of these which I bought new, it is NOT for sale. It has 423K on it, and runs like new on original engine. I just mentioned it to show how far these engines go. The car you are buying has 156K. It will also come with a full tank of gas so your first 500 miles are free! The oil was just changed as well, we use Mobile 1 Synthetic. This car needs nothing, it is ready to go across the country. I hope that clarifies it! Thank you, Kenneth
