Vehicle Detail

1958 Austin Healey 100-6, Recent Barn Find, Restoration Ready, No Reserve Description You are bidding on my 1958 Austin Healey 100-6.The car has been off the road since 1968. The car was recently found in a garage with a few other American muscle cars on the east end of Long Island. Sometime back in the 60’s the original engine and transmission was replaced with a Chevy 283 and Muncie 3 speed manual transmission. I can only assume the engine failed, and the car sat in the garage for the past 45 years. As shown in the pictures, the drive train remains partially disassembled. The chassis and body shell are in exceptionally structurally sound condition. The original floors are still intact and in fair condition. The chassis was not modified during the V8 conversion, it is very strong and straight with no prior collision damage. Sheet metal around the forward transmission tunnel will need replacement. The front shroud has plenty of bumps and bruises, but is very usable. The paint is mostly original except where covered with 50year old red-oxide primer with little to no filler. All the body panels are in good alignment with minimal rust considering the age. The outer rocker panels on both sides need replacement. Inner sills, outriggers and floor joints are original and solid. I can best describe this car an excellent candidate for either retro Hot Rod project or solid starting point for a total restoration. Although it needs everything, the required body work is reasonable and no major welding should be needed. This car is being offered in a no reserve auction with a very modest starting price. I have tried to include as many pictures to depict the true condition of the car. Please email and I will promptly assist you with any questions you may have. Please read the good and bad in the description above. I will make myself available for anyone requesting a physical inspection Terms The winning bidder must confirm bid with a $300 non-refundable deposit within 3 days of close of auction. The balance is due within 10 days. This car is sold as-is where-is, with a Bill of Sale only. Local buyers are always encouraged to inspect in person before bidding. If you would like to have the vehicle shipped, let me know and I can make arrangements with your vehicle shipping provider after the listing closes. Buyer pays actual shipping costs.
