1957, A Banner Year for Ford, Out selling Chevrolet two to one with 21 New Models that were Totally Re-Styled, Re-Designed, and Re-Engineered and the Twenty First and Newest Model was the 1957 Ranchero. With technical advances in steel production it made it possible for more artistic styling methods which contributed to the looks of the sleeker, lower, wider and more comfortable '57 Fords. "The '57 Ranchero was a pickup in a Sunday suit. A sporty wagon with its top off. With its Dramatic Looks and Cool Styling, it set a whole new trend in personal transportation." This particular Ranchero was built in San Jose in March of 1957 and is a great example of a local California car that has spent its whole life in Southern California. It has been well maintained, driven and enjoyed for the last 17 years.
