Vehicle Detail
61 Chevy Wagon. Ultra rare 9 passenger wagon, although it is technically an 8 passenger because of the 64 Impala SS Buckets. It has what I think is a console from an SS with a "3 on the tree". It has a crate 350 and a Holley carb built my a mechanic with Dale Earnhardt Juniors racing team at Hendrick Motorsports. Automatic.About 2 months ago, my wife says "Hey honey, find us another car on the east coast we can buy and drive home". We have done this twice before, one from Florida and one from Texas. Anyway, I bought this in North Carolina, and at the last minute, it was decided (she decided :) ) that her dad would go with me instead. So we flew out and DROVE IT HOME!!Yep, a couple of minor things, but all in all a truly epic trip! We had an alternator bracket break, twice, once in Nashville and then again in West Memphis. Lost an axle bearing in Parsons, Kansas--and went ahead and replaced both. And blew a line on an airbag in Ontario, Oregon. No less than 20 pictures an hour were taken of us all the way home!!!It drives very well and the motor never missed a beat. The exhaust sounded awesome all the way home--I know, because the stereo didn't work. I replaced it with one in the glovebox when I got home.So that said, the bugs are worked out, and I wouldn't hesitate to drive this across country again! It only used 2 quarts of oil in 3000 miles. Average temp was 90+ and probably the same humidity--and this car with its big aluminium radiator never overheated. The 18's and 20's are Coys look perfect, especially when you drop it on its Magnaflow exhaust. The car has been done about 15 years so it is not a showcar, but a nice driver quality car. I was told it was built by one of the top guys in the Goodguy Organization in North Carolina.I will remove the Oregon Duck sticker for the new owner, and the "Oregon or Bust" sign I hand wrote and had in the back window. I'll bet someone saw us that is reading this ad . . .Questions? don't hesitate to ask, except maybe what the low reserve is!On Oct-10-13 at 20:48:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention, power brakes--disc front. And 605 power steering with 'strongarms' heavy duty control arms.
