Beautiful, correct Factory TRIPLE BLACK 1965 Mustang Convertible with all original paint, rust free perfect body and underside. The car is in a very desirable and rare factory original color combination of Black paint , Black interior and Black convertible top The ID tag on the inner door panel shows the following ORIGINAL equipment configuration: VIN: 5R08C221292 5 = 1965 / R=assembled in San Jose, CA. / 08=Convertible / C= 289 2V V8 - 200 HP Body: 76A = Convertible Color: A = Raven Black Trim: 26 = Black vinyl with black carpet The car has the original matching 289 / 2 bbl rated at 200 HP. This is a very hard to find POWER STEERING, POWER DISC BRAKES (front), AUTO Cruise A Matic Transmission AND FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING car! This is an EXTREMELY hard to find and VERY DESIRABLE Triple BLACK original documented car. Factory installed A/C blows COLD. The car also has the desirable styled steel wheels with very low mileage BF Goodrich radials. We have a large file (complete records and receipts of all work done and parts purchased). Over $7,000 spent in last few years. New Black top installed by Mustang top specialist (perfect fit - see pictures) - new water pump, rebuilt starter, New belts / hoses /New water pump and gaskets / new timing chain installed / new left and right upper ball joints, new gas shocks, New master cylinder, new brake lines throughout / Total rear brake drum overhaul (new linings / cylinders / springs), resurface drums / Bleed, flush, refill hydraulic system / New power steering control valve / Starter rebuilt / new oil pressure switch / New power brake BOOSTER / Auto transmission rebuilt / new plugs and wires / etc.It also has a Custom Autosound am/fm/cassette made for classic mustangs to fit the original mounting position but with improved sound. The car has a beautiful wooden Moto Lita Mustang steering wheel but I also have the original wheel - buyer's choice. Interior looks great. Note the DATE CODED original seatbelts which are fairly rare as they were not required in 1965. The paint is original and definitely shows it's age in certain areas. Looks great from 10 feet but has some rub through spots and a little crazing on the hood peak. Fine to use as a driver as you can see from the pictures but would need painting to be show quality unless showing as a survivor original car which are growing in popularity! They are only original once! Car runs and drives excellently and the auto transmission is smooth and quiet. Underneath the car is as nice as the topside (see pictures). NO RUST ANYWHERE! Perfect trunk and floorboards. Beautifully detailed engine compartment, extremely straight body with great door / gap alignment. The car has been in our family for over 18 years and we have the previous owner's history. Comes with original owners manual, original jack, original top boot,etc. I am a charter member of the Mustang Club of America and am very picky about the cars I own. This car is from my personal collection and I am getting to the age where I am letting a couple of my Mustangs go to new homes where someone else can love and enjoy them as I have. I also have a beautiful 1969 Mach 1 (351W / 4 bbl / 390 HP) I am listing . This is a great, solid, very clean unmolested car that is getting harder and harder to find (especially in this condition) and will continue to appreciate yearly.
